Just found this channel. The 185S (and the 125, and the later 200's ) all had very soft cases and driving bearings into the case was even mentioned in the FSM. You should ALWAYS heat the cases in an oven to 100C 212f until a drop of water dropped in tne case sizzles. Remove and drop the gearbox bearings into place. Tbe crank bosses were strengthened with steel inserts as these were designed to get fitred at room temp. Oh, you had the kick-start spring on backwards, but you worked that out.

I like to restore, or conserve bikes. The hardware sets are great for bikes that you run alot, but Honda still has most of the hardware new for those that want to keep the factory look.

I'm rebuilding an XR200 which has the main bearings slip fit into the cases similar to this engine. Is it normal for them to drop right in with no additional encouragement? What's to stop them from spinning in the case? Great video, thank you

So you put the case halves together with a dry gasket? I can never put a cover on without at least a thin film of non-hardening gasket sealer such as Hylomar. I just can’t. No balls I guess.

Hahahaha! Sometimes I do sometimes I don't. I haven't had a case gasket leak on me with or without. The only real benefit I have seen with sealant is that it makes it a heck of alot easier to scrape them back off. Really hope I will not being that anytime soon!

Hey Cody! I need some carb work for my cb750 nighthawk. 4,000 on the bike. Would you be interested? If so let me know. Bike has a K&N and a Delkevic 4 into 1 exhaust. Stock airbox. So it will need to be jetted. Let me know. I sent you an email week ago. Take care.
