I live in Maine, just found 81 KZ 440, for $ 100 bucks, like yours it needs everything. I have spent my allowance for this month, and a nice complete one 10 times better than mine for, he just lowered the price 100 down to $ 250.00. Plus 1 and a half hour drive each way to get it. It is easy to open a can of worms, on old stuff.

Can you make a video about main and pilot jet differences? When to change them? I have a scenario where my idle is good but once I give it throttle, esp if I throttle fast, the bike bogs and eventually dies.

Man thank you. Saved me a ton of money with these extortionate prices they want to charge now at these shops now. This was a great step by step, very appreciated. Very nervous to dive into the carbs themselves. Taking them to a friend who's going to show me in person how to rebuild. Thanks again.

How about replacing the overflow tank? Worth it or is it better to mount an aftermarket overflow elsewhere?
@raybrensike423 күн бұрын
What this sounds like is problems that arise because somebody wants to fix something when it isn't broken. For decades we have enjoyed the simplicity of gravity fed carbs. The only time you had to use your shut off valve was when you float needle valve went bad in your carb and gas came out the carb overflow tube. Now we have all this. I have to wonder, was the EPA behind this? Was somebody from the government worried about a little bit of spilled gas from a failed float valve or seat?

So I'm a noob and was trying to tune my 1990 Suzuki fa50 to the service repair specs and it just wasn't working! It would run but I could just tell it wasn't right. The way you explained how to hear what the engine is doing as far as being lean or rich was an aha eureka moment for me. I went straight to the tool box the moment I pulled the bike into the garage after work and had it running better than it probably has for 20 years. The bike sat for 18 years before I bought it for 300 bucks. Thank you so much I will never forget this lesson for as long as I live. 🤙✊🖖😎🫡🐐

Cody what are your thoughts on setting the lash to the loosest end kf the range …. Am I too fussy or would it be worth it for a DIYer to do it now since I would have it sort of apart….. thoughts?
@TheMotorcycleMD4 күн бұрын
Loose is fine. Typically valves wear inward. Meaning the clearances will Only get tighter with wear. Especially for shim under systems where the most wear takes place at the face of the valve instead of the tip like tappet systems.

Those are way safer than the mercury sticks we learned on back in the day. Although I remember the old Bell Crank carbs, you could sync them with four pieces of welding rod (or coat hanger).

2:43 Using the side of the big flathead blade usually works too. It’s longer than the blade tip and tapers to fill the slot.

What i learnt from watching a fella tune his hemi 6 was u can buy a device called a colour tune which lets u see the colour of the spark cournel as the engine is running. Seems a great visual way to adjust air and fuel for optimum performance. Thanks for your video . Talking through your points is good

What a lot of people don’t understand is that there are air mixture screws and fuel mixture screws. By turning both type screws inward, you will richen the circuit with the air adjustment screw, but lean out the circuit with the fuel adjustment screw and Vice versa.
@meter42826 күн бұрын
I think it would be helpful if you say Air Fuel mixture screw, instead of confusing it with idle screw. They are two different screws, air fuel screw and idle screw. I do think this is a great way to tune air fuel ratio. I would like your opinion on adjusting idle while tuning the air fuel mixture. If air fuel is way of do I need to readjust idle as I tune?

I have a carbie that stops on idle will not run without the choke on. i cleaned the carbie several times still didn't run. So i bought a brand new carbie and it still does the same thing exactly. so i cleaned the new carbie and i still does the same thing . I give up have no idea what going on.
