Bit late, but: that's not true. Stephen was upset about bad reviews and went off to Belgium, leaving suicideletters behind.The play had to be cancelled. There's a book about this event/ " Fat chance" by Simon Gray, ( the director) dedicated to Rik who was deeply worried about Stephen and his health.
