The narrator has an enchanting, "hill station" aristocratic quality. Very enjoyable documentary!

If it's not broke don't fix it ! HO can this beautiful and healthy ,loving way of life be replaced by such in human ideas . Botton village is a shining light in this world.

+Su Bittleston - I agree, Su! It works beautifully, so leave these people to their lives and work! Everyone deserves the warmth of belonging to a community. The man with the ducks, for example, loves his work. How would he find such a perfect niche except on this lovely farm? I've seen institutionalization and this isn't it!

Su Bittleston part of the issue is the work they do. it could be deemed by the government as slave labour as they cant get paid. if they get paid they can't get benefits... if they can't get benefits they cant afford to live. if they pay them minimum wage they cant afford to pay for the support they need. its a crap circle of stupidity.
@douglasreeves99387 жыл бұрын
Julie W I think you have the solution. The government needs to keep their hands off of a situation that has, apparently, been working for over 50 years without their "help".

Kay Edge I believe there are quite a few Camphill communities in the US, have a look

Kay Edge where I live in upstate NY, there is a residential "village," consisting of several residential homes, a lovely bakery, a church, a health clinic, various other on-site jobs, as well as transport to off-site jobs, facilities for residents from surrounding small communities to have parties, a Zumba class, Saturday night concerts during the months of July and August which are free and open to the general public, and many other advantages for its residents. It really is a lovely place.

Truly this form of life will in this century be seen afresh- hold on. This will be a keeper of our Communal Soul, our universal birthright. By mid 21st century- soon, not too far off- many people will reseek a non technical life, where the work of the hands, light of laughter will be evermore the path of the heart. And cannot, must not be lost.
