Lol, I think the patient is a bit dramatic about the pain she is experiencing. I have had people practice on me with no anesthetic and while it was uncomfortable, I never even flinched. . The technique looks perfect, nice job on teaching this.

I totally agree. The patient is reacting very strongly to something that should not hurt that much. I have been giving injections for 25 years and if I had a patient react like this, i would suggest that the technique needs to be reviewed..

Giving the injections and receiving them are two totally different things. The person in this video had to adjust her technique several times on getting a grasp of the needle. I've been getting these injections and they certainly do not feel good, some areas much more sensitive than others, but never have I seen them be injected this slowly. Also, medication reacts to people differently what doesn't effect one person may make another feel like it's on fire.

She must have a super low pain tolerance. Or the nurse is using a large needle because normally, botox needles don't cause pain. Also if the product it injected slow. If its injected fast it feels like a slight burning sensation. I recommend using 31 gauge needle for this.
@andreag1880
@andreag1880 3 жыл бұрын
I didn't want to, but I just must. This is not a good instructional video for Botox, and here's why: The injections were done in a way that made it much more painful for the patient when it didn't have to be. If I were this injector, I'd practice softening my tone when instructing while working with a live patient (YES! Bedside manner is a part of any procedure and very important to the comfort of the patient and their experience). The licodaine topical anesthetic needs to be applied in a very thick layer (almost like cake frosting) and preferably covered with a heat concealing source (like saran wrap/plastic) so it doesn't evaporate and left on for a minimum of 15-25 minutes, depending on the patient's verbal ques of their own pain threshold. Botox is not at all supposed to be this painful for the patient, (which it clearly was) and you also do not have to inject that slowly. Another important thing, she didn't mention the differing depths that the needle needs to go into certain muscles, and she was much too shallow with the Corrugator supercilii muscles which could possibly result in hitting or sitting atop the Corrugators and being absorbed by the drop down fibers of the Frontalis muscle that sometimes lay over the Corrugators, resulting in the dropping of that part of the eyebrow tremendously, giving a heavy or even angry look, and leaving the Corrugators untreated. Thought I'd help out anyone watching this who is learning how to inject properly. Good luck and do your research! :)

TERRIBLE where’s the ICE??? The injector is very unempathetic. Use ice for crying out loud. Ice really helps. Also it’s not necessary to inject deeply in the crows feet area those injections should be done almost intradermally very shallowly.

As an injector for over 17 yrs. This procedure should not hurt this much. Even individuals with a low pain tolerance have not reacted this way. Possibly this patient should have had and ice pack prior to injection (not necessary but helps with patients who have low tolerance). Also, when the muscle is in contraction injection hurts much more. Most patients in our clinic generally say it does not hurt.

What a terrible example of what the Botox experience is like. If the patient is suffering that much she is not a good candidate for Botox. I've been getting these injections and they certainly do not feel good, some areas are much more sensitive than others, but never have I seen them be injected this slowly. Also, medication reacts to people differently what doesn't effect one person may make another feel like they're on fire. Botox IS a poison and how a person's body and reflexes react is different for everyone. ALSO, I get Botox for migraines not cosmetic purposes and with that being said I have hypersensitive nerves around my temples and eyes so I pass no judgment on this lady. It obviously hurt her and if it doesn't or hasn't hurt someone else or they have a high pain tolerance good for them. They should be glad, not criticizing someone who is effected. Plus this instructor had no bed side manners, her technique was flawed, and might I add even the Botox information website will tell you NOT to apply pressure or press down on a site. You may "pat" the area clean but applying pressure risks the medicine spreading to an area not intended causing blurry vision, drooping eyelid, etc.

Hello I am interested in trying to use botox by myself. Can you tell me which type of injection ready to use or the kind of botox you use. Do you mix also with some phisical water solution or not? Amazon can sell your product? Thanks.

Sheesh, the client was such a baby! This is what gives women a bad name of DRAMA Queen. Besides her about to slither off the chair and die, great demonstration.
