Small tidbit of info, both Jaheira and Minsc absolutely can become Bhaal assassins, they just have to be speech-checked to go along with it. Sarevok also mocked the hell outta Minsc on that playthrough for me, since he's the one who killed Valeria. It was hilarious.

For the first room you could use rush attack to get to the restoration pod, park one character there and refresh rush attack (if rush attack doesn’t use movement speed that is I can’t remember)

9:30 you can just throw explosives with mage's hand instead of picking it up. It does not explode when thrown. That definitely puts it out of her reach and you should be able to just escape.
