The island has just voted by 98% to become an independent nation and I decided this is the right time to drop in and check out this new country. Even though the result must be ratified by the PNG government, I believe this will become the world's newest country thus making it my 114th.

I hope these drones don't disrupt and annoy the local people too much. The island with the 'single tree' was called Two Tree Island. I visited it as a child in the 1970s.

The Arovo Island used to have a very luxurious resort during the good old days, but in your videos of the island can only see the concrete remains of what used to be the pier. I think the buildings were completely destroyed during the crisis that took more than a decade.
