BOUGAINVILLEA BRANCH PLANTING FOR BONSAI

In this video, I will show you how to successfully plant BIG bougainvillea trunks without using ICU method. I will be using a radical approach, which is the candle method.
I have come up with this method because I don't like the appearance of the ICU plastic cover. I want to see the bougainvillea improving or to see their current status.

wow! root such thick trunks without growth hormone and plastic cover! a small tip: if you cover the wound with a candle as soon as possible after cutting the trunk, this is more convenient and you can easily put the trunk in the right position. Therefore, almost nothing will evaporate from the trunk. Unfortunately there are no thick bougainvilleas here in Belgium, otherwise I would definitely try this. very interesting to see! thanks!

Yes thats true. You can seal the wounds right away after cutting. I just cut our big bougainvillea and same day I planted them.

Every year it goes inside around the end of September, and then stays in the frost-free veranda all winter until spring, until there is no longer a chance of night frost. it flowers all summer in a very sunny spot on the terrace . @@lily-annevereecken53 well, for some months its maybe an opportunity but we can enjoy 7 months of flowering our bouckenvilleas. And I find beautyfull coleurs here, really amazing. I live in Philippines and I love the bouckenvilleas here but for Filipinos are this plants simple and ordinary. I did live in Belgium for 25 years so I know the climate there.

Do you, or someone else, know if it is possible to buy unrooted bougainvillea cuttings of about 1 cm in diameter at 30 cm in length and send them to Belgium? I would like to make a multicolored bougainvillea and so graft those cuttings onto my large bougainvilea. Not many different colors are available here (and certainly not the special colors that I sometimes see on youtube). all i can do here is buy big plants (which i don't have enough room for). Who can help me with special colored bougainvillea cuttings?

Hi, there is an english caption. You should keep them under shade for about a month, then slowly take them under morning sun, then after 5 months or so, they can be in direct sunlight

Yes it humid and hot here. I agree that there is still litrle root growth thats why they have to stay untouched for five months or more. I just trim the growth of the branches because they grow fast.
