Bought a Tuned CPO that Wasn't TD1'ed? | AskDap

Q - Recently I purchased a CPO 17 A3 2.0T. Upon owning the car for a couple weeks I had a growing suspicion that the car was tuned. I sent APR the VIN and one of their reps confirmed the VIN shows history of being flashed with their stage 1 file. I double-checked and logged boost and the car is definitely still tuned. I contacted the Audi Dealer and asked if the VIN was flagged and explained the situation. They confirmed the VIN did not have the TD1 flag and had not been flagged in the past. They also confirmed they had the car plugged in and scanned as part of the CPO process. How is it that Audi did not flag the VIN or catch that this vehicle did not have a flash? Has APR found a way to reset the flash counter that Audi checks for?
