I’ve got a stage 2 2008 gti. A spark plug blew so switched em out to Ngk iridium platinums. Had a service and the head gasket is leaking and some coolant that’s been leaking since I owned it near the transmission cooler. A couple days ago I took it for a drive. I got to the end of my driveway with it in 1st (dsg) pulled out and as I put it in second the blow off valve went off, car jolted forward so I took my foot of the accelerator. Pulled over to park then car stalled. (This is a week after spark plug change and 3 days after service.) I bought new ignition coils and still having the same issue. The coils worked but once I rev the car it starts jolting the engine and running terrible. Any ideas?

Turbos and higher compression motors can benefit from higher octane fuel. Our 2024 Mazda CX 5 has a naturally aspirated engine with a compression ratio of 14:1. That is higher than any naturally aspirated engine of this type. I definitely noticed a peppier response when I used 93 octane fuel, especially from 0-50. The gas mileage was slightly better overall, roughly an increase of 1-2 mpg combined. If your vehicle calls for 87 octane or higher as exhibited in your manual, you may receive a performance and/or an increased mileage benefit from 93 octane gas. It’s worth a try.
