Hi there welcome to my Channel Caledonian Biker.
l want to share with you my recent motorcycling experience on this video, a montage of pictures taken by myself whilst l was processing my purchase of the all new much awaited BMW R1300GS.
I will take you through the initial viewing of the various models and colours at Douglas Park, Motorrad BMW, Glasgow. Providing some facts and figures along the way.
This is a vast information gathering exercise to say the least that I had to process, with the various 4 different colour options to choose from to begin with.
Then the bikes have over 100 options that can be purchased to accessorise your new shinny motorcycle.
I then move onto the test riding of Park's Demo Bike a Triple Black version.

After my exhilarating test ride it's then onto the configuration of my desired machine.
I found the standard bike a bit cramped for my 6' 4" frame so with the vast experience and assistance of the Douglas Park BMW Motorrad Sales Team I was paired up with in my opinion the ideal bike in every way for myself and my type of riding.

Then came the buying, after a good trade in price for my outgoing R1250GS TE I was ready to roll.
Now we move onto the collection of my new machine at the dealership which all went smoothly and off I went with a full tank of fuel.
So finally I'm here, I've got my all new, all singing, all dancing, BMW R1300GS Trophy Enduro version.
Now the running in process begins for the first 600 or so miles.
The riding experience of this all new much anticipated motorcycle even whilst running in is to say the least just simply incredible.
I accessorised my bike with several options to suit my height and riding style, here are my purchases to date. :-)
Namely :-
(i) Sports Suspension -
which includes Dynamic Suspension Adjustment. This gives a further 30mm of travel to the suspension with a longer spring travel to optimise traction both on sealed and unsealed roads.
(ii) Forged Enduro Wheels -
these are almost 2kg lighter than the standard wheels and give a much more sporty appearance. The wheels are first cast and then forged for added strength with a high-quality surface adorned with the various BMW branding thereon.
(iii) Enduro Pack -
which includes handlebar risers, adjustable gear and brake pedals, shorter sportier hand levers, lowered foot pegs (if desired) and an extended heavier duty bash plate.
With these particular addon's to suit myself I felt the bike was right for me, I also increased the inner padding seat height on the riders seat to give me more height and as l stated earlier the Enduro pack foot pegs can be adjusted lower which I did,

Please give it a look and my descriptive part too there's lot's of vg info their for you. All my as ons are mentioned. To your question my friend bought his R1300GS Triple Black same day as me and he's your size he has since bought the high comfort seat option and is much happier. The seats themselves are also adjustable underneath an easy process to slightly heighten it ask dealer to show you. Anything else l can help with just leave a comment. C.B.

Hi there thanks for watching the video. I love these wheels after having my last 7 bikes with spoked wheels and the extra cleaning involved these are stunning. Lighter by almost 2kg. Easy clean. More agile on the road. A MUST for me on my choice for a R1300GS Thanks C.B.

Was wondering if you could feel the difference with the forged wheels. Not seen those in the flesh yet, but good to know they make a difference on the bike.

Did you fit the bar risers with the enduro pack,if so how did find them ?

Hi there thanks for watching the video. The Bar Risers come pre fitted with the Enduro Pack. Have a look at my Shorts just posted a headlamp protector fitted to my mate's R1300GS Triple Black.

I would say the bar risers and the lowered footpegs a must for taller riders. Thanks C.B

@@caledonianbiker I am 6'1 with pretty long legs at 34", like you I found the standard triple black bike just too small and my legs too cramped. Did you go for a higher seat option, and how are you finding the screen?

Is yours a TE spec? I’m looking at ones in stock and most are launch spec which is basically a TE but without the luggage rack but around the same price so a TE is better value

Hi there thanks for watching the video and leaving your comment. My bike isn't a TE but is high spec with the enduro pack and the higher suspension. I also went for the off road forged alloy wheels too. I'm 6'4" so when I rode the standard demo bike l found it cramped. The one l got is perfect for my size especially with the bar risers and lower footpegs. I hope this has assisted you with your choice. C.B.

Does the enduro pack give lower pegs? I wasn’t sure if they were just wider I was looking at the trophy model which comes with a high seat I’m getting a test ride next week but they all seem to be so th out sport suspension in stock

@@caledonianbikeryou answered my key concern. I too am 6'4". My 2022 gs1250 Rallye fits good. I think this will fit better with the high seat, sports suspension, and height adjustable pegs on their lowest setting.
