My 1995 R1100RT turned 29 today. Owned from new. Same engine tune and gearing as the GS, just a bit less suspension and a bit more fairing -- it handles gravel roads just fine (I live on one). No real issues. The insulation on the Hall effect crank sensor gave out two years ago (turned to dust and shorted). I replaced the fuel pump and lines at 25 years old. I think that's it -- can't remember anything else. No engine / gearbox / shaft problems. Still love it every time I ride it, no plans to "upgrade". Uses mostly 5.8-6.2 l/100km. On Fuelly looks like 1250GS is mostly 5.2-5.4 l/100km. OK, better, maybe $50-$100/year less fuel at most people's usage.

I had the 1250Gs for 25000 miles and loved it, made the biggest mistake by part exchanging it for the 1300GS, had 7 months of hell with it, engine rattled from new, BMW changed the engine at 500 miles, then the starter reply packed up, then software issues and alarms, 2nd engine started to rattle, then the drive shaft started clunking at 4000 miles, so BMW changed the bevel gearbox as old one full of water, drive shaft no better tho. I went back to BMW and asked for a refund in the end and they very kindly agreed saying no one should have that much trouble with a bike, BMW tried to get me another new 1250GS but couldn't find one so i had the refund and left for pastures new. I think I will leave it a couple of years before I look at another GS, give them time to sort the issues out.

Back in 2020, KTM announced the new 2021 1290SAS. I had had my eye on the old one and after a raft of early problems, things seemed to be improving. By October, there were a lot of unsold 2020 bikes in the dealerships, so after playing one off against another, I got a new bike (not a demo) for a bargain price and I have to say it is terrific and after 3 1/2 years, I have had no problems at all. I think you are right, best to get the last of the old than the first of the new, which is a nuisance because I fancy the upcoming 2025 RAV4, but may have to wait a couple of years to get one.

I exchanged my V100S after 12,500 miles, that wasn't terrible but too hyper for me, and purchased a Moto Guzzi V85TT TRAVEL. Yep, a much older design at the END of it's design stages and it works really, really well. I don't miss that extra 35 HP from the V100S at all. The super creamy ride, seating position and engine feeling of the 850 is great. It is of a piece like my V7 feels. So there is a lot to be said for old stuff and it is hardly way out of date. I'm road only so I did convert it to STRADA specs; 10 pound lighter cast wheel, lower inner front fender, removed the bash plate and installed the single exhause guards. Why not get the STRADA? To retain the six axis safety stuff that STRADA doesn't have. I did consider other bikes but the fact that the V85's are pretty polished sold me. Best, I can do near all the maintenance on the V7 and V85 myself. The V100S? Forget it.

The problem is these machines really are *CRAZY* overpriced tho. Who in their right mind spends $30,000 US Dollars for an off road bike to be taken off road? These are machines that are expected to be busted up but then *FIXABLE* so just don't get this in the first instance...but marketing of the item is spectacular. People buy them then defend the purchase with a "no problem with mine!" response. The whole point of these machines is that they will be crashed but can then be put back together. Meanwhile CF Moto is really challenging in all the right ways the purpose of having these types of machines. Anyhow your money to spend I won't argue with that part. Great KZbin product here tho is an understatement..

It is expensive but I wouldn’t call it an off-road vehicle, and I wouldn’t use it for any serious off-road. I personally stick to 230lb 2 stroke bikes for that.

Overfill isn't a DESIGN problem, so can't blame that, it is a people training problem. I've had three MG's; V100S, V7 and V85TT. and every one has been fine. ZERO issues. I run the V7 and V85TT TRAVEL currently.

It's not true that BMW have best warranty. One of examples they had a lot of issues with cardan shafts so what they did? Improve it? No... They just assumed that this is just a part that you need to change from time to time like brake pads...

is it necessary to add adaptive height control option for a 185cm man?
@thefika8 ай бұрын
No but its one of the best features. it makes it much easier to handle
@tilasslouka62217 ай бұрын
If you are tall this option isn’t for u , may be u should better take the sport suspension instead and also a high comfort seat with those two options you’ll reach 890mm The adaptive height control isn’t compatible with sport suspension.

Everyone 😂. How to get the clicks? Tell some bullshit 😜. No one is selling, more over, there is 3-4 months lead time at the moment. A lot of emotions, words, movies and still less than 3k subs. Congrats, great job 👏. There is an old proverb. It's better to say nothing and not look like an idiot than to say one sentence and remove all doubts 😂😂😂

I’m confused! You spend 20 minutes slagging the R1300GS off then at the end you say you haven’t decided as whether to pull the trigger to get one. Also, is ‘fuck’ a mechanical term?
