LEAVE NO VINTAGE BUS BEHIND!
(full ver. 1.0v)
Our VW Recovery this past week of a 1955 Wolfsburg PG/SG Standard Microbus in the middle of the Nevada desert. Original logo's read "Las Vegas Custom Cleaners" and "Pickup and Delivery". Plans are to get it up and running again, while leaving the historical aspect of this 62 year old bus properly named "Boulder City Bullet Bus".

MicBergsma Thanks buddy, glad we found her and saved her last year. I just picked her up two days ago from my storage facility in Boulder City NV. Amazing to know that she left town to my home in Las Vegas for step two (continue sourcing original parts), a liitle over 50+ years later 😎. One step closer to getting her back on the road. The idea is to leave the bus like I found her and bring her back to life “as is”.... Obviously get the dents out of the way and put her back in ‘undented’ shape to make sure we can put oroginal doors and glass in her. Last step might be a full resto but not sure yet. Step by step...

It was so nice to see this V-dub get rescued but, the sad thing is, they could have made that job SO much easier on themselves to start with if they had just thrown a couple of pieces of that large sheet metal that was laying around under the bus to slide on the gravel. Would have come out slick as snot on a door knob. Of course having seen you rescue so many (including that Red single cab buried up to it's window sills) I know you know how to pick them out clean as a whistle.

It is a shame that someone abandoned the bus, littering the desert that way. It could have been sold to be used or scrapped. If it was stolen and stripped, that is worse.

I've seen better planned out kindergarten field trips BUT, you saved it. Do you have any idea what the writing is on the front? Be interesting to know it's history, hell there might still be guys around that drove that back when. If you haven't seen it Mustie1 did a real cool series of vids on fixing up a 1959 single cab he rescued that had practically no floors on the bed and treasure chest, but GREAT original paintwork from back when it was a gofer for a lumber company in Memphis. Cool to see something like this saved from my neighborhood. I was out that way near where they were starting the Dam Flyover and saw an old brass era car laying out there headlamps and all...

John L The new owner had permission from the local police department to extract the bus. They came to his house and signed it off. It's been down there for over 35 years

Should have left it there. and yes im a vw bus owner. some buses are worth restoring, some are too far gone. this is the latter. people think just because its a splitty its worth a million dollars because of jacked up prices on Samba.. its not. but some people have no sense. And judging by the Hummer, prolly have more money than sense.. interesting video tho, and enjoy your new yard art. :)

It's more about "leave no vintage bus behind" and just really is a passion for him. Knowing him, he'll get it back on the road but leave as much patina & as many bullet holes as he can :-) - He definitely knows what he's doing so, rest assured, this old bus is in the best hands possible

Nothing is to far gone if you have the heart and the determination anything can be fixed that bus has a perfect shell when you see him pulling it it does not shake like it's rotted away and who knows the story behind that bus he could be bringing back some history instead of just an antique bus
