I went here with my school by coach in about 1988, I vaguely remember the wall, and I went back in 2014 briefly and then had a proper walk around it in 2016, it’s such a nice town and has a place in my heart.

Not even sure why this placed looked so beautiful but right down to the brickwork and steps, you could tell the place had so much character 😊 Adored looking down from up high being able to see the Chimneys x

Very soothing calming France. That's a tonic for the soul. Time to recharge batteries without having hoards of people humming about everywhere. But that's not everyone's cup of tea I know. Glad you can experience a safe place to be and enjoy its surroundings. Those gardens on the square looked lovely, well cared for and colourful. ❤️👍🎥🌷🙋♀️

It is a really restorative place. we have visited the area off and on over the last decade or so. I think its the mix of forest and sea, as you will see as we explore :)

I went there on a school trip in back in the early 1980s, but all we were interested in (at that age) was where we could buy some flick-knives, lighters and other souvenirs (very bad, thinking back on it). I now appreciate, have done since my early 20s, architecture as well as a bit of history, so after seeing this video, will return to have a good look around. *If the ferries weren't so expensive, I have been over lots of times over the years, as I spend quite some time every year along the Kent coast. The ferries seem expensive for just a weekend away.

@@FayandDanExplore I will, thank you. Next year will be when I next venture abroad, if all goes well Covid-wise. I have been to Paris 5 times and loved to walk all around, checking out places along the way. I also spent 2 weeks in Brittany too (explored some of the west coast of France), which was cool. I'll have to go all along the north coast now and explore the historical sites especially.

Nice channel, tip: Kampen, Overijssel a beautiful city in eastern part of The Netherlands. Now a city with a huge countryside and about 55000 inhabitants , between the 14th and 16th century, the biggest city in modern Netherlands and from 1441 member of the Hanseatic league. In that time for the northern Netherlands like Bruges was for the Sourthern Netherlands. Kampen has about 500 monuments in the old town, and is in the top 15 with monuments in The Netherlands. The city has some very special sites wich are unique in The Netherlands. For example three city gates are still existing. De Schepenzaal (now part of city museum) is the last surviving interior of the Sixteenth century in a city hall in The Netherlands
