Bounce on the Boss RC505-MK2 #3: "Silent-Bouncing" 🤫

Hello everyone!
This is the 3rd and final part of my Bounce tutorial video series. This video covers a technique called Silent-Bouncing, which allows you to bounce your tracks without revealing them to the listener. I also explain how you can mute your microphone on specific tracks, so that the track only recieves the bounce and not your microphone input. I’m working on developing templates to turn the 505 into a performance mixer like ezbot does with the octatrack. It’s an interesting challenge and a lot of fun. I’m using a midi controller into the 505 and trying to develop powerful crossafade techniques on one fader. 505 has some advantages over octatrack, six ins and 6 outs for example and lots of fx. It’s not as powerful or sleek as octatrack but it’s not far away really!

Nice. I'm not too familiar with production outside of the 505, but I can see the possibilities. The 505, while being limited (only 16 assigns when used on its own, etc.), is still a very powerful device.

Nice tutorials!! Would it be possible to have a tutorial in the future about the bounce used for melodies and chorus? (For example, epos 2nd round wildcard for GBB23 or the recent Cardona wildcard for GBB24) Keep up the good work!

Thank you! At the moment I'm unsure if I should do specific tutorials on other people's tracks or not, at the very least I would have to contact them first. Also, I think I'm done with Bounce tutorials for now haha. However, I saw your comments on Newfie's Discord earlier and it was already well explained there: You put in an input note with the "synth" (GNR delay, etc.) of your choice and then put a Transpose Sequencer on one of the remaining Input-FXs (if you have 4 chords, 1 sequences will do the job) and then record 1 chord on each track (if you use 4 notes for one chord, you would do 1 initial recording and 3 overdubs for a single chord). Then you just play the chords and bounce them onto a single track. If you have additional questions, feel free to hit me up on Discord also.
