Beautiful images. Simply amazing... You can even see the little droplets inside the bigger droplet. It is awesome.

Those were awesome video experiments and I have a great appreciation for your innovative method of slowing down video! However before concluding that the cause of the bounce is due to air entrapment you should investigate Dr. Pollack's discovery of the "EZ" water phase. Apparently water has a fourth phase at an interface with another material, especially hydrophilic ones, that cause it to "crystallize" despite being a liquid... Then it takes energy to overcome this organization that exists in the surface is responsible for the lack of agglomeration.

This phenomenon at around 40s, where the droplet decreases in size step by step while being absorbed by the puddle, is there a research publication that showcases this as well? Or any other citeable source that goes into more detail?

This music was created by Gavin Free from the Slow Mo Guys. He discussed this music on his channel but I can't find the particular video right now. Full track here: /watch?v=Wd5DcLhO23s

Lovely video. Question: Is the drop rotating in the last seconds of this clip?
@113binder9 жыл бұрын
for the tiny spheres inside the droplet and the drop appearing to rotate: the camera cant record that many frames of 1 oscillation so it sums up many different oscillations. thus the super slo mo footage is composed of perhaps hundreds of oscillations( too lazy to actually calculate) and thus we see defects from individual oscillations flash

How to make this ??

Oh my goodness, I just noticed all the little bubbles bouncing around inside the droplet. Is that what's going on, or is it something to do with how it was recorded?

Cool stuff, but, please explain that tiny sphere inside the droplet on the last clip. It seems to be bouncing but it also seems to be spinning.

What's that music? Even Slow Mo Guys use it.

haha, you're a lucky guy. I can't even find my own channel by searching for minutephysics. Anyway, i'm glad you like my channel!
