It was originally constructed in 1885 as a custom station that would monitor and hold cattle being moved via horseback from state to state. Then, in the early 1900s, it was refashioned into a police station, before being transformed into the Betoota Hotel in 1922.

I worked out there in the 70s and each property had a dozen employees or more. Earlier there where more, and those people needed somewhere to congregate and unwind. All those little places did a roaring trade on the weekends.

We did that road in the wet heading in to the bash . Started raining a few k in to the drive. Wasn't a lot of fun

Gday there thanks for the info on the oricom system. We bought a 6 pack and have had no end of trouble with one of the sensors that goes on the van. We run a single axle hybrid van. The sensor seems faulty. Any other ideas?

Not real sure but maybe you got a faulty one?? Best to contact Oricom and see if you can claim warranty

How does the Oricom sensors fare with salt water when boat launching? Would it cause them to fail if back tyre sensors got submerged?

Went out birdsville races 10 yrs ago i went with an old jockey in my wifes brand new kia carnival droped tyre pressure it would go any where your 4wld drives go

i watch pretty much every youtuber with outback stuff...there's really not much to see is there - the lengths we go to...i like the driving more than the camps to be honest...something about being on the road...once you've done a couple of laps - what do you do with all your gear ? its too expensive to get rid of...incase you get the itch to go to exmouth again for another lap !!!

@@sspacegghost I hear you! I was in Port Hedland for 18 years from 1969. Got my motorcycle license in 73 and car license in 74. I would do an insane amount of distance in a year simply because I love driving on dirt roads. Back then the bitumen ended at Barradale road house about half way between Perth and Port Hedland, I would do the trip in 16 to 18 hours. I just love dirt road driving. 2022 the wife and I traveled from Perth to Uluru via Warburton in a awd diesel territory pulling an off road trailer. It was the first time in almost 40 years I had driven any distance on dirt roads. Took me all of about 20 km to slide back into my skills. Was just the time for me, all that driving is so good for the brain.

I have the same tpms, such a pain with sensors on the trailer when you disconnect and don't have the trailer with you they just beep and drives me insane. Can't find a easy way to turn it off.

You can just turn off the trailer in the setup menu 👍

@@TripInAVan I need to pull out the instructions everytime to work out how to do it, be cool if it had a switch or something bit more user friendly. Apart from that good bit of kit, had a faulty sensor and their support was great.

Question on the TPMS - low pressure alarm you mentioned you set it at 35psi. You obviously go lower for the beach. How do you manager that? Is there a setting that you can bypass for that situation?

I just turn it off when on the beach hey. Not much chance of getting a flat on the sand
