Thank you having a narcissistic mother I get so upset when people say mean things to me it'll affect me for days I'm a widow I miss my husband because he was always there to tell me to knock these people off the pedestal and always calmed me down He would say do you think they're thinking about you right now do you think they're losing any sleep the only power you have is the power you give them I miss him telling me that

I just want to say as I am also an empath and had a difficult time I would like to tell you as your husband would be saying no one is losing sleep over you. But learn to love yourself and not need anyones approval your own approval is the most important. I hope you can grow stronger every day caring for yourself more you deserve it.

You are so lucky to have had such a wonderful husband. I'm lucky too. As time passes I'm losing loved ones. At times it is just unbearable. I taught myself to look at the ones I have lost in a new, less painful perspective. When grief is gripping me I force myself to recognize how grateful I am for them. I feel lucky that I was the one who got to be their loved one. It makes me remember really good things instead of focusing on the pain and longing. I hope this helps you or someone else.

Many therapist channels go for the high view count; doing videos on "why Narcs are bad". I'm glad Kenny rejects that temptation and instead focuses on content that actually helps people.

I agree yes! I was stuck in that place of victimization, playing everyday video after video on narcissistic abuse untill I found Kenny and his content helped me tremendously to shift into me, what is wrong with me, i started asking myself this question, why have u fallen so much in my life into this abusive people? And i found my answers, and I'm healing and i am so happy i am on the right path. I'm never going back.

Videos about why "Narcs are bad" has become its own form of pornography. - Narc-blame porn. I'm glad Kenny keeps his vids about the work.

Yes they have. In my experience it keeps a person stuck in self-victimizing purgatory always susceptible to more injury and abuse.

Thank you. I’m the oldest scapegoat child of a Narc parent who recently passed. He taught my siblings to see me in a negative light. I have been his and their punching bag for many years. Fourteen years in Al-Anon and years of therapy (currently in EMDR to process the childhood trauma)has taught me to not take their behavior personally. Unfortunately, it still hurts so much. My youngest sibling is the most abusive. We were taken away from our mother and I was her pseudo mom. I am now treated like I have leprosy. I don’t know what else I can work on. There is not enough therapy in the world to help my siblings want to heal their trauma.

You can't change them I'm afraid. It's really hard to change ourselves. It's impossible to change others. Trying to change others is codependency. Use your energy to work on you.

Kenny, you are a master teacher. I just put the "feelings wheel" as my desktop background. You explained that when someone expresses anger towards us they are dealing with their own pain and are asking, "Do you see me here? Can you see I'm in pain?" Thank you so much for that insight. When I was a school administrator I would see an angry parent walking up the front steps of the school and I would look forward to the conversation that was coming. The secretaries frequently mentioned that they braced themselves and felt protective when these events would occur. They couldn't understand how I would actually look forward to meeting angry parents. I knew these parents needed to be heard. They were hurting and they needed someone to see that. I could see it and not take it personally. Then we would problem solve together and before most of these parents left they would be hugging me on the way out the door. I'm glad I could be there for them.

Great video as always. I'm in a place now, where my husband and I are working through the emotional mastery, we are currently separated. Fantastic material and guidance. I have to be true to myself, I don't want to continue with this marriage, but I feel compelled to go through this program in hopes it will help me make a decision. I see myself as the under-empowered co-dependant that led me into a marriage I knew was the wrong thing to do. Dang it.

I bumped into one of your videos, and got hooked…im after 2 yrs of inner child therapy which will be ending soon as ive worked through everything and actually having a normal life now…obviously at times I regress and drop my boundaries so it will always be WIP…great advice in this video…as well as many others. Its nice to see what I have been through in the past, to be able to put names and descriptions to my behaviours. All the best for your recovery.

First of all, thank you for another great video. Love the part about having a. An external boundary and b. An internal boundary. Another key for me is recognizing that it's my job to protect myself from the hurtful aspects of others, and I'm responsible for my reaction. It's hard because the tendency to go to the victim role is automatic and it goes back to our personal stories in childhood. Anyway. Working on that. Second of all, this video should have more likes, comments and reactions! Why do you think it is? (Really wondering 🤔 I'm a digital marketer) Third of all, question: when you talk about nasty comments and them accusing us of something and if that's true, owning it.... My question is: if it's a person with narcissistic traits, when you know that they're gonna take your acceptance of your imperfections not to heal but as fire material to use it against you, what's the best course of action? Again, especially when you know that the person have a tendency to do that and make everything worse for you. I don't have any problem accepting my mistakes but I've been in certain situations, even at work, when I was even fired for accepting a solvable mistake and turn it against me (also because they were also trying to hide they were doing very shady things, again as people with narcissistic traits that think they are in power and they can get away with their bad deeds).

One of the toughest and bravest things we can do to empower ourselves is to recognize what are our problem and what are other people's problems. Once we can do that we can then allow ourselves to relinquish our habit of taking on other people's problems as our own. The result is we are then left with just the problems we 'can' resolve.

I read The Four Agreements by Don Miguel More than tens years ago. I definitely have issues with taking things personally!! I'm 62 and still highly sensitive as I want people to behave nicely or respectfully. I also read The Five Love Languages. Mine is Acts of Services therefore sometimes feel as people know I'm a pleaser and take advantage of me. I wouldn't call myself codependent (?) As I truly love being but myself. I've always been a loner but at same time love to help.

I cptsd from SA so when a man screams at me I freeze it first then after time passes I become angry then I ruminate. I don’t know if it’s because I did not stand up ti him and tell him to stop

Nice idea to put a moat around my heart as a boundary but i don't think you have ever been shouted at by my old man. The idea that no one can make you feel anything becomes suddenly laughable when that happens.
