Everybody have this wrong currently, you have to wait for FAB to be launch and you will have before 2025 to claim the megascans assets on FAB. Claiming them on quixel is futile since it is not going to transfer to FAB.

I don't think this will work. You're adding all the Megascans to your purchases on Quixel, but they don't transfer over to Fab...as far as I understand. Once Fab goes live you have to add them within Fab by the end of the year. I could be wrong...also sorry if the comment was posted multiple times by me, I didn't see my previous comments post for some reason.

@@notavail I used both fab and Quixel bridge in the past and the libraries are not shared. What I own on quixel bridge does not appear on Fab. So, sadly, I'm pretty sure we will have to do that manually. There are already around 2300 megascan assets on fab, so you can already add these to your library inside of Fab. Only downside: you're gonna lose your mind, cause you have to add them manually.

agree, quixel is not too naive. They are aware of the script and I don't think they will allow to "hack them" like that. I'm wondering if someone is actually downloading them

i've already bougth from UE market values around 1000$ a step which i would never done without the free assets on Quixel bridge, because i don't have a larger budget for this. In my position could be a lot of other ppl who wouldn't never start a road in UE5.

I think downloading every assets and surfaces you want to your own disk by the end of this year is the surest way, though it would be a ton of things and need a ton of time.

Not quite. This does not imply that you will have those assets forever. Foreseeable future Quixel has stated. If you wan to keep those assets forever than wait till Fab is on and then do it under Fab by the end of the year.

It will automatically appear in your Fab library once you log in with your Epic account based on the email from Quixel

Quixel Purchases will not carry over. You have to wait until FAB releases then purchase them before the end of the year.

yeah idk this really sucks. a bunch of other places also made assets and materials for free, and I feel like they only did that because it's hard to charge for these things when a quixel isn't. I'm sure after this polyhaven et al will start charging again. I'm sure it's not a big deal for people who are already pros, but if you're just starting this is a big blow to moral.

@@dkdkdk486 hello :) according to their announcement, you should still have access to the metahumans after the migration to Fab, so you shouldn't need to do anything to maintain access to those. And the collections are just different arrangements and assortments of the assets the script moves into your "purchased" folder, so you should also maintain access to all of the collections!

Currently, they have made Megascans free for everyone, not just Unreal Engine users. So according to their announcement and pricing, yes, you should be able to get the assets for use in Blender. I have not tested it myself, but it should work!

Your account does not transfer from quixel and megascans to fab, so doing this is actually useless and meaningless!

@@babak2126 according to Epic, you will still have access to quixel bridge after the transition to fab. So you will maintain access to all of these assets until they deprecate quixel bridge, which will hopefully not happen, at least for a while. So it's not useless, and certainly doesn't hurt. It takes about 5 minutes to do.
