though I had some problem with sea water It also kzbin.infoUgkxa-FNYUOM93a388gi9a4brtSCEVmrHgJH land for finding any things very easily. (thought it would work as normal due to it being water proof within certain parts of the detector), on dry land and sand worked well. My first one, so still have lots to learn

This one was my first detector. The one major gripe I have with it is not being able to adjust the volume from the unit. If you don't have earbuds or headphones with adjustable volume control, it'll leave your ears ringing for days! It's also a bit fragile, but besides that, it's a solid machine IMO

Great vid again. As I said in a previous review...I would highly recommend spending just a few more bucks and get the Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro for a beginner. You get the pin pointer, backlight, and alot better discrimination ect. You get about 15 hrs full on the 9 volt. I teach everyone that wants to learn on the Land Ranger Pro...in 1 week they get a great feel. Love my Nox! Best! Rick

Excellent review. Bounty Hunters are great little machines. Cheap, easy to use and great signal depth. Why do you need headphones? They are very uncomfortable in hot weather. The speaker works just fine. I’ve found out that 240vac overhead power lines will greatly interfere with the metal detector, never a telephone line.

I'd love to see you throw some iron beds maybe some shotgun pellets under some rocks or in between two big Flat Rocks. Just because I search for gold in the cricks and the Bedrock cracks. Not precisely looking for a machine that will pick up a tiny piece of gold. Just looking for a piece of equipment that will pick up small pieces of lead or iron in a crack. Indications of heavies. Thank you good show by the way.

Bounty Hunter is owned and manufactured by Fisher/First Texas. Yes, the same Fisher that makes great underwater detectors and the Gemini Series of Two-Box Detectors. Fisher/First Texas also makes Teknetics. That way, Bounty Hunter (a very inexpensive beginner brand of detector) can draw from the R&D of the more expensive brands that they sell. I have one because when a guest is over, I dont have to loan them an $800 Whites GMT 24K or a Minelab PI Machine. Simple turn on and go.

I hadn't touched a metal detector since the early 1960's when my father bought one to look for buried gold my grandfather (who was born in 1880) knew about. I was an electrical lineman and was in an accident where I received 7200volts of electricity through my body and I fell 20ft. The voltage stopped my heart and I landed on my feet then fell over on my right side. I crushed several vertebra, ruptured many disc, and destroyed my joints in my hips and knees. I have had both knees scoped and countless shots in all areas. I am not a man that will sit around idol. After many spinal fusions and a right knee replacement I bought a metal detector. I bought a Bounty Hunter Lone Star Pro and the machine is very light and seems to be very sensitive. I live in Oklahoma and there aren't any civil war relics, or real old coins to look for, but I do live near the site of a Native American massacre site that was carried out by another tribe of Native Americans. The people were wiped out along with their horses and other animals. I have found burial sites when I used to search for flint arrowheads and I will never disrespect, or take anything from a grave. I discovered where a horse had died and melted down with saddle and gear still in tact. At this site I found the remains of a Colt SAA revolver and a .44-40 black powder bullet which had probably been dropped because it was unfired. I am scheduled to have my left hip replaced in the last part of February. Then in June my left knee will also be replaced. Soon after I will schedule my right hip to be replaced and I will have all new parts. I hope then to be able to get back out and try my metal detector out more. (If I can detect anything but myself.lol) In the mean time I will stay motivated and inspired watching you and your friends dig old coins and relics. Thanks for keeping a beat up old man anticipating doing something besides sitting in a recliner.

Good video, but the largest gold nugget dug up on the west coast came up as an iron signal. low grunting sounds. With your video @10:54 you are doing he gold test and listen to the sounds, then when you turn the ring at 11:30 you can start to to hear grunts. That is why i don't leave any stone unturned, you never really know what you have found unless you dig it. It would be great to have a group get together and work an area with detectors under 200.00 and see what they find. Then a group with 201.00 to 500.00 work the same area, And then see with 500. plus. I think this would really make a difference to see it is worth the extra cost of the machine. Or to make it in layman's terms you have a cadilac with all kinds of bells and whistles you don't need or volkswagon that works the same but no bells and whistles. Such as a volume control or can operate under water. I am only looking at above water testing. This would be awesome to try with other people who detect for fun.

I still have my first detector....a Bounty Hunter and it was even cheaper than the one you tested. I think around $100 and it doesn’t have a display just 2 switches , one for on /off volume and sensitivity and the other for discrimination. While running some tests with my nox and simplex, I decided to try the old bounty hunter and was surprised at how well it did. Of course it doesnt have the bells and whistles of other machines but as a starter detector, it works pretty good. Think I’m going to let my 10 year old use it when we go out hunting. Nice video!

I have been detecting for the last four years and I have yet to buy a commercial detector lol If you can figure that one out you'll get a gold star, I was looking at the Simplex tbh, how do you like it? With my detectors, I have no problem Reaching 12 inches down on a quarter with a 10inch coil With discrimination on just past the nickel range, What the deepest coin you dug with the simplex+?
@GENOBURRITO13 жыл бұрын
@@patprop74 I like the Simplex. There is a learning curve with the tones compared to the nox but it is a deep machine. I have dug coins about 8 inches but that was just because they were 8 inches. I have dug many small relics at 12" or more with it so I think it would hit quarters or halves about that depth.
@patprop743 жыл бұрын
@@GENOBURRITO1 Fantastic and thank you for sharing your experience with the Simplex, luckily it's winter here and I still have a few months to decide if I want to go the store-bought route, however that simplex is looking good to me.

@@patprop74 I understand. For the price, nothing can touch it. I have the Simplex with the green wireless headphones and it was about $340. I bought the bounty hunter land ranger. HATE IT. I've been detecting our century ol farm for years. It's hard hard land to hunt, bc of the rocks and soil, but out of all the detectors I've hunted this land with, the bounty hunter has been the least successful. Most successful is the AT pro. I understand you are making these videos for someone that may be wanting to get into metal detecting, however, there is a very very important bit of information you forgot to share, these type of detectors which are VLF in technology are not like PI AKA Pulse induction, Air test will not determine the depth it will detect in gound, If your Air test is showing as nine-inch you will be lucky if you get 4 to 5 inches in the ground ( realistically more like 3 to 4 inches) and that is with optimal low minimized soils, Doesn't mean you can't find anything good nonetheless with these introduction detectors, hell a lot of my best finds were only a few inches down, I know you don't want to discourage newcomers to this fantastic hobby but it is something they should be made aware of. Cheers!
