So you clearly have no idea how the legal system works. There is a warrant if you don't show up to court when you're supposed to. Bail is just collateral to back up your promise to appear before they temporarily release you. The bondsman uses their money to help you cover the cost. You don't show up, they don't get their money back from the court, the court issues a warrant, and they give a portion of their money to the wannabe cop for getting the rest of it back by dragging you to court.

I recall watching a KZbin video where a bounty hunter (bail bondsman by his word) said that if the individual is on their on own property, they do not need a warrant to kick your door in and detain you. Typically a bail bondsman would show up, knock on your door, then tell you you missed your court date and that you need to go with them down to a station to set up a new court date. If you go with them, nothing bad happens AFAIK. If you don't go willingly, that's when the door crashing happens. The guy whose video I watched is from Montana I think, and laws still vary by which state you're in. Someone is, or is not, a flight risk. Money won't change that one iota. Someone is, or is not, at threat to themselves and/or others. Money won't change that one iota. Cash bail does not protect society or you. End it and force the ADA's and judges to do their dang jobs.

If you want to argue it’s unfair, try understanding the law first. This isn’t about gender. If the prosecution offered both of them a deal with probation on the table, then giving him 15 years just because he's the moron who didn’t take the deal, might seem excessive. Personally, I think any deal should have a minimum of 10 years in prison. In that case, receiving a 15-year sentence for not taking the deal instead of 10, seems more reasonable for this kind of crime.
