Rolling stones asked Eddie VanHallen what it felt like to be the best guitarist in the world. He said I don't know you would have to ask Roy Clark about that. If it had strings Roy was a master of it. RIP Mr Clark we miss you and the world is a lesser place with out you.

We were treated to this kind of talent all the time on Hee Haw. Jimmy Henley was self-taught like Roy Clark. Roy's family(father & uncles) were his band on Hee Haw a lot. VERY TALENTED FAMILY! Whatever instrument Roy tried to play, he did it very well! He was amazing to watch.

Roy could play anything with strings. Roy makes funny faces as part of his ace, but if you look, he looks at Jimmy like a proud Dad. It's a shame they're both gone now. Thankfully, we still have this clip to see Jimmy's talent. Clark and Henley toured for years. They've been making the fiddle sound like a train for years. My grandfather used to do it all the time.

I don't think I've ever seen Keith's brain melt down that fast! It was smoking within the first 30 seconds of the song! I think this might have been a Chernobyl level of meltdown! I was right there with him though. . . That kids haircut had more musical talent than I'll ever have and don't even get me started on Roy Clark. . . I've been privileged to be friends with some incredible Violin players, and one in particular could play a MEAN fiddle, but this took it to a whole nother level!!!!

We had a place in Branson (in the previous century - man it hurt to say that) and would go to different shows such as Glen Campbell, Mel Tillis, etc., but Roy's was one of the best and the first "big name" to open a theater there. He always played multiple instruments, bantered with the crowd and was a great personality and entertainer. Living in Tulsa, where we also live, you'd every now and then he had dropped in to Cain's or The Church Studio (Leon Russell's place) when some of the older guys were in town and he'd join them for a bit. He was a real class guy. Motorcyclist, private pilot, etc., he lived life. His wife said if you take something and put strings on it, he'll figure out how to play it.

Look up Jimmy Henley, someone that is mentioned on the channel considers him an inspiration, Jonh 5. When John 5 was seven years old he saw Jimmy play on Hee Haw and has stated "It's crazy there's this exact moment when I realized I wanted to play, it changed my life."

Someone mentioned that in the comments earlier, and, well, it explains some things. John 5, when he wants to, can do some absolutely astonishing things on his telecaster in a bluegrass style. He creates some seriously mind-bending bluegrass riffs. I think this explains why he went down that road in terms of his guitar playing toolbox. - Keith

Funny you mentioned kids only knowing how to play Xbox. I was walking past the toy section in Walmart and stopped because on an end aisle I saw a baby toy that was shaped like a controller and all the buttons were shapes and colors and it was advertised to help teach babies there shapes and colors. What are we doing as a society when we are putting a game controller into the hands of 1-3 year olds? It ruined an already bad trip to Walmart!
