Johnny Cash AND Roy Clark - very cool. Every time I see Roy Clark I am reminded of the first time I saw him sing Yesterday When I Was Young, on Hee Haw. I was young then but that song just captured me with the haunting beauty of it. And it still does.

Since you didn't grow up listening to Country Music, it's understandable that you didn't know this song has words to it. But today it's not done because Country is now pop/rap music. Same as you won't hear them sing "Rocky Top" anymore. I don't think they can yodel either. But l could be wrong as l don't listen to the stuff they call Country anymore. Watch Roy pick with Chet Atkins, Glen Campbell, Jerry Reed, Buck Trent & Jimmy Henley(Hee Haw Show). This kid(1970's) never had a lesson in his life. Just pure talent. It was fun watching these artist pick with each other & they LOVED doing it together. No egos showed up either!

Hitting the dancehalls in Texas in the 70's, this song would clear the dancefloor. The couples who weren't good fell out fast. That left lots more room for the few of us who lasted till the end. One hell of a polka.

Haha I remember when Urban Cowboy came out I think I was in 6th grade. My best friend and I said we were going to move near Gilley's after high school and buy a trailer together. WTH were we thinking. Haha My mom loved being able to pay $12 for a pair of Wranglers, though. I think I wore Wranglers until Gloria Vanderbilt's became popular. Then I started wearing them again when Alabama became popular.

I think the best country instrumental I have ever heard is Roy Clark and Glen Campbell doing Ghost Riders in the Sky. I love Glen Campbell's voice, and I really like the lyrics to Ghost Riders, but Glen doesn't sing in this and it is still the best version I have ever heard.

Johnny wrote it and no disrespect towards either of these two men or anyone else but having grown up in the Bluegrass music world (my whole life til I turned 16 including the 9 months in the womb). This song is so much better by Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs... Kinda like the idea of bourbon fusion. Thanks guys for the daily smile. 😊

I’ve never heard that song before. Liked it a lot. Keith’s proofer seems a little bit off lately or the whiskey/bourbons are deceiving him. And poor Dustin, one reaction he is the other Dustin and now he is Justin. 😂 But at least you can snack on some Haribos. The white dog sounds delicious.

Nice! Great reaction! Oddly the 1st time I heard Orange Blossom without the lyrics was Roy Clark, except he was on fiddle. But I'm from Florida and people like the connection. Keith if y'all dont want to react to 2 versions of the same song, I'd recommend listening to the one Roy does with Jimmy Hennly ( hopefully I spelled that right).. you're a strings man, you'll love it I'm sure.
