Spot on with OGD114. On Early Times, we’ve blinded three different bottles of each ourselves and the new always comes across so much darker and richer. Then we double blinded 15 other folks on new vs old and new won by a landslide with the old coming across sharper, thinner, and more artificial fruity (Taylor SmB was in the same blind and new Early Times destroyed that for 13 of the 15 people as well). It’s gotta be batch variance.
@cjmann7652 жыл бұрын
I dont think the juice in Early Times BiB has changed yet. Its a bottled in bond product so that means min. 4 year age statement. Saz just took over on Brown Foremans inventory less than two years ago. So wouldnt that mean its still original brown foreman juice for at least 2+ more years?
@stuffandwhiskey2 жыл бұрын
@@cjmann765 that’s correct by all accounts, but Early Times is a blend and I doubt Brown Forman is still blending those Early Times barrels for Sazerac. Never had the old early times. I think the new one slaps though. One favorites under $40. I have most of the bottles on the list. Feel it deserves to be A tier.

evan williams bonded 100proof handle is $35 so it fits your requirements. one of the best bottles at the price point.

That Dickel Bourbon is super solid. I have surprised some Dickel naysayers with it. I think the Coopers' Craft Barrel Reserve 100 proof @ $30 for the price point is super solid as well. Great vid...always enjoy your banter that goes long with it...Cheers!

Where I'm at I can get Lost Monarch for under 30, so that would be S for me. That being said, I don't know what I'm missing but I don't like Buffalo trace. I have tried several different bottles and can't get into it.

I do not disagree with any of your ratings, especially the S Tier. I think they are pretty spot on. I would add a couple to the list: Around $30 Johnny Drum = A Tier $32 ($26 @ total wine) Coopers Craft 100 = A Tier $32 1783 = B Tier $32 Larceny = C Tier $26 Bulleit Bourbon = D Tier $22

just starting out drinking whiskey, buffalo trace was my first and loved it...i dont know if i got a bad batch but 1792 is horrible. bulleit rye, knob creek 9 and Toki Suntory are all great to me but 1792 is being given away to the homeless

isn't there something going around saying that brown foreman still provides the juice for early times since it takes a minimum of 4 years since it's bottled in bond? sazerac bought it in 2020 and they're saying it won't be sazerac juice until early 2025.

Dont know how i missed this video. I really like this style video. Id like to see you revisit this or maybe do another price tier. Im amazed yall arent coppers craft 100 fans with you like old forester and early times. Easily my favorite $30 bourbon.

I concur with the list except for the OF100. That’s a C for me. Everybody’s taste is different.

Visited a local store recently and notice they had 10-ish bottles of ET BiB on the shelf. Then I noticed about half of them were black cap brown foreman’s. Bought em all!!

I agree with OF 100 being an A, I think Wild Turkey 101 is better. I was very disappointed in 1792 Small Batch but it's $45 in Indiana. But Early Times is a stunner in my books, it's above S it's a different universe!

Love the channel by the way! I tune in all the time while I’m sipping. Usually while my wife watches House Hunters or Bravo. She is getting use to y’all.

I have read and heard reports that Early Times is still bottling barrels shipped from B-F. Since it has to be from a bonded warehouse, you think they are bottling the former Very Old Barton or 1792 bonded and calling it Early Times bonded? ET has a different mash bill so I don't see how that could be the case. Must be still from B-F.

I could not disagree more with your OGD 114 assessment. For the price, there's just nothing that beats it. I can find it for $23-25 bucks in Austin TX. Give it just a splash of water and it's a killer sipper for the super low price. However, taste is entirely subjective, so any tier list is a personal thing, regardless of how many people agree.

I guess I gotta give 1792 another try because my first experience with it was downright awful. I'd probably put Elijah Craig up one tier but other than that it's spot on.
