Do you take all babies at once or do you sometimes take the younger ones later

Since four is a typical clutch size they are near the same ages. However, when Peaches hatched seven I did leave the three youngest until they were a little older. So, I've done it both ways, but most of the time I pull the whole clutch.

Hi 👋 My names Katie, I am interested in being a parent to a Bourke parakeet and I got a male budgie named sky at home and he has me but I would like to get him a playmate to play with while I am busy so I am wondering two things Do you live in Australia 🇦🇺 ? And Do Bourke parakeets get along with budgies ?

Hi Katie, It's not a good idea to put Budgies and Bourkes together because of their personality differences. Sometimes it works out okay, but more often a Budgie will bully the gentle, quiet Bourke. A serious injury can even result. You would be better off finding a Budgie hen for your guy. If you want a pair of Bourkes then put them in a different cage from the Budgie. Also, Budgies are more active and do a lot of climbing. Bourkes need to fly for exercise, so a wide cage is more important than a tall cage. Bourkes don't climb, they are fliers. There is too much to cover it all here. I highly recommend you get a copy of my book: www.amazon.com.au/Rosie-Birds-Guide-Small-Exotic/dp/198676348X/ Best of luck!
