Very beautiful, untouched by ugly modern buildings. Locals don't like too many coaches in the summer, even though visitors are good for local businesses..

I visited Bourton on the Water back in the 1970s whilst stationed at RAF Brize Norton, it never changes, Still beautiful and quiet, thank you for sharing your walk!

I lived in a tiny village nearby (Sheepscombe) in the 1970s while my father was stationed at GCHQ near Cheltenham. As you say, it's still very much the same place.

Only one word describes this place, that word is STUNNING. Look how clean, quiet, and very peaceful this place is. The houses are beautiful, everything about Bourton on the water is beautiful. Definitely got to spend a weekend with the wife at this beautiful location. 👍👍👍

A place I've been to many times, the first time was circa 1959. It's been about ten years since I was there last, with a quick visit to the Model Village - always a treat to see the changes over the years. I did once get to witness the river football match - a bit of fun except maybe for the ducks! Certainly a great place for a picnic or fish 'n' chips. It's a little slice of old England's country charm that's been gradually disappearing over the years.

I love, love, love Bourton on the Water - my absolute favourite place in the Cotswolds. I have been there a few times now, always visit the Perfumery and treat myself to something special. Yes it's a lovely place, I 'visit' there once a week at the moment. If you had turned in the opposite direction when leaving the motor museum onto the High Street you would have walked past a garden I'm restoring there. Gardening in The Cotswolds, it's a tough job but somebody's got to do it.

I grew up just outside Northleach in the late 1960s/early 70s. I would frequently come to “Bourne” on my moped - twenty minutes away. Even then, it was fairly on the tourist trail, but nothing like it is today. Nevertheless, your video reminds me of what a beautiful village/small town it is. You ask about other villages - smaller, but close to “Bourne” are Eastington, Hampnet, Colyn St. Denys, Aldsworth and, of course, Northleach (much improved in one way since a bypass was built, but sad that it has become a bit Disney-world). Thanks again for bringing back happy memories. Oh! You have to visit Burford!

60% Council Estate. Worst area of the Cotswolds to visit . Massive drug and alcohol problem hot spot. Diabolical traffic issues and careless littering visitors. Once gorgeous but ruined. Avoid.
