So appreciative of the way you make crafts so accessible and help us learn from your experience! My sis has been wanting to make beeswax candles for a few years, so I took the plunge for an upcoming birthday. Your candles turned out beautifully.

Fantastic video, Carla. So informative. My daughter made candles last Christmas for gifts and noted some hole....now we know about the temperature sensitivity. Those molds are awesome. The indoor beehive and interesting information about honeybees!!!! Enjoyable.

I love candles. I have my own stash of Yankee Candles bought on sale quite a while ago but the shipping to where I live in Canada is very expensive. I do re-use leftover wax collected from the empty jars to make new ones so I use up everything, nothing is wasted and the jars are upcycled to other uses. The wick trimmer is a MUST !

I sooo agree on the wick trimmer!! Do you put the candles in the freezer to get out the last bits of wax? It works great.
@suziechampagne3572 жыл бұрын
@@mynewenglandstory No I don't put them in the freezer. I put the jar in a pan with lukewarm water then I pour boiling water IN the jar, The wax will melt slowly and then float to the top of the jar. Once it's cooled and hardened, I simply remove the wax and store it in a tin container until I have enough to make a brand new candle. Oh and I forgot to mention, just make sure when doing this process that your jar is heat resistant so that it doesn't crack. I tend to re-use the Yankee Candle jars or Mason jars.
