Does it matter when you split the string if you have even stands on each side? I'm thinking for a silencer maybe not...but what about a peep sight? Thanks.

Do you have to count fibers to make sure you have it split even?

Hi Kenny! Thanks for the video tips! I do have a question for you, if i don't have a bow press, can i just draw my bow a little bit and put like a hex key tool in between the 2 cams so it will lock then i can work on my string? Thanks!

No that is dangerous I would never suggest doing that. Use the proper tool for the job, you woudnt use anything but a jack to lift your car would you.

Kenny Parson ive put in many drop away cords, peep sights and silencers, and ive never had to press a bow to split my 70# bow strings. looks like itd be alot easier, but ya just gotta know what your doin.

I would never use the string splitter, because I've seen that tool cut strands as you twist it to open up the string. You don't know if you're splitting the string between strands or right through the strands. You'll end up needing a new string in short time if you use that tool. Don't be lazy and use a press.

Is it safe to perform this on a bow that is set to 70lb draw weight. With that much pressure on the strings?
