I have loved watching this video. I made my bows alone with you and I 100% agree especially for a beginner dollar tree ribbon made it more difficult. When I got ribbon from Hobby Lobby I was actually able to make the bows. 🤣🤣. Trying to save money doesn’t always work. Thank you so much for your tips.

Sammy thank you so much. What a gift! I think for the second bow, the reason you use an odd number of ribbon strips is that when you fan out all of the loops, one loop can be positioned in the middle and then surrounded by an even number of the other loops. I have a suggestion: instead of struggling to cinch each strip in the same place, try this: fold each strip of ribbon in half. “Stack” them flat on the table, in whatever order you like. Then pick up all seven together and cinch them with the zip tie. Fan out all the loops & tails to complete your bow. You pickin’ up what I’m layin’ down? 😁❤️

The reason it’s 7 not 6 is so you have a center. Centers work only with odd numbers😉nice work on all the bows! Glad I clicked on this YT first !

I woke up and you were on doing bows ha ha ha!! I watched from there so I will have to go and rewatch it again another time, sorry Sammie. The ones I watched I loved so I know I’ll like the rest of the video and I really need to learn how to do more bows, thanks for sharing. Having a new baby in the house along with 3 energetic boys is exhausting. I’m always putting you tube on my iPad and I wake up watching something else altogether or I’ve missed most of what I’m watching. Have a great week. By the way, the messy bow you did at the end, when you tied the jute around the centre and then did your knot, if you tie the first bit twice and pull it it doesn’t loosen up, it’s like a knot so you can let go and do your knot without it loosening at all. Hope this makes sense. I tie the boys laces like that so they don’t come undone during the day at school. Have a great week and stay safe.

I have watched many bow videos to no avail. Everyone goes way too fast and I don't like having to rewind and rewind so I can see it again. I remembered you mentioned in one of your other videos you made a video on how to make bows so here I am actually learning to make them by hand. I have the full size and mini bowdabra but I don't want to always have to take them out when I need a bow. Thank you for going slow and letting me see your mistakes! I made the same mistake you made for the finger bow! lol, It is crazy how difficult something that looks so simple is to do!

Something I learned years ago, was to take a fork & wrap the ribbon in & out of the prongs to make a bow. The bigger the fork, the bigger the bow.🙂

You said you once wanted to be an 11th-grade English teacher. I AM, along with other grades, an 11th-grade English teacher (the best high-school grade to teach!). You have done an amazing job because you let us in your class see your thought process as you were creating the bows!! (In teacher ed that's called modelling.) You weren't afraid to show us that sometimes you change your mind. That sometimes you have to rethink and redo. That sometimes you can forget to include that 7th loop and still come out with something beautiful. You showed me that I don't have to be perfect, that I can try again, that I can, like you did, think and redo. Thank you so much for this video--I'm so scared to try anything that forces me to think spatially or measure or anything like that, but I'm ready to dive in and TRY after watching your video.
