Bowers & Wilkins 603s3 vs 703s3

I know it can be heavy to shift around towers, but when testing I like to have the speakers level with each other, separated a little. And have them set up in A B (Centre) A B

Would have been better if you positioned the speakers side by side as the 700 had a lot more boundaries reinforcement thanks to being positioned closer to the wall

I get what you say but that would not have made a huge difference. Some but not huge. Next time ill try get them more even👌

@@homecinemaking397 in my own testing with speakers positioning close to walls totally transforms the bass Another thing to note is other people have said the new 600 series has been designed for normal homes where people tend to position them close to a wall Which would explain why they could be abit light in the bass because that would stop the bass being overpowering if put up to a wall

Nice! Not sure how long u have the 703s3 as i saw the 603s3 was a new. I had 603 but take long to break in then it got very deep base. Then i went to the 705s2. Also position for next time should be same spot or at least next to each other the 700 is in the corner which improves bass when 600 far from the wall. If you van would be nice to see a 704s3 comparison to the 703s3 to see how big is the difference as its a much smaller speaker.

@@k1cs1m3a8 yes they take some break in time and also amplification is key. I will look at doing videos on the 704s3 as soon as we have moved now year end. Lastly yes corners always improve bass reinforcement 👌

I have heard both speakers today through a Cambridge Audio CXA81 (80W amp) and the B&W was the clear winner. Lively drum sound, broad soundscape and good bass. The MA was a bit thin to my taste.

Goeie review Morne. Ek baie tevrede met my Dn 12's wat ek by jou gekoop het. Werk uitstekend met my B&W setup in beide surround met movies en musiek stereo. As jy van bass hou probeer Geoff Castelucci se weergawe van Sound of Silence...kan dit nie hard speel nie,my plafon kan dit nie hanteer nie

like you I want base, tight and quick, the 703 has it all over the 603. Is the price worth twice the cost, I would pay twice the cost to get the satisfaction i want.

I just got a pair of 603 S3's. They suck. The tweeter is so annoying I want to stuff a screwdriver into it to see if that works. They are going in the back of a pickup and tossed in a landfill. I would NEVER buy Bowers and Wikins again. You can hear the utter annoying tapping of the percussion in this video. It makes me sick.

@homecinemaking397 I like highs, just not the annoying symbols going rap,rap,rap like the pounding on the back of a tin can. You can hear it in this video the loud....tap..tap..tap..taps of the percussion. The tweeters are over engineered. They make the speakers out of balance. I feel embarrassed i didn't do more research.
