I got them in midnight blue. Much easier on the eyes than the brown pinstripe like effects shown in the video. We could debate all day about brightness etc with B&W speakers. In the end , it all comes down clear and clean presentation , sparkling high end , some will adore it whilst others will complain of fatigue etc. I paired mine with the Rega Aethos int amp. Dynamic, detailed and deep soundstage compliments the 705 sonic qualities better than most. Bass note retrieval with this combo is genuinely very good. The 705 signature performs impeccably for a speaker of this size. With emphasis on audiophile presentation rather than distorted decibels cloaked in muddy bass. Bowers and Wilkins got a winner with the 705 signature. A taste of the high end at $4k and music never sounded so good.

Thank you for reviewing these these. You are my favorite reviewer these days. Keep up the great work and content. I tested elac, svs and one other I forget. I worked my way up then jumped to the 705. I was making mad cash at the time so got them. I love them, but their big brother the towers blew my mind. I did all this impulsively though, so I'm glad to hear they stand up. I got the yamaha r-n803bl receiver. Any chance you could let me know if that was a mistake? I wish I had waited for that finish though lol

They are so shiny! (I'm like a magpie) - I'd love to review these against the standard 705s2!

How does this fare with say, the Roma 96DC Tube Amp? Synergy?

Did you use the NAD C658 as the preamp/source? And if so. What did you think of it? I like the idea of it, but it doesn't seem to have a digital out. So you're stuck with that DAC. If that's how it is. It better be a darn good DAC for that kind of money IMHO. Thank you for the review Jay. Well done as always. ✌️

Exactly my experience with these speakers at my dealer hooked up to a M33, went with Dynaudio Heritage bookies instead, but these weren't too far behind.

The Dynaudio Heritage is almost twice the price of the B&W 705S2 Signature, hence no surprises

This seems to be a very nice pair of speakers ! But for the price, i would be very courious how they compare with the b&w 702

Jay Lee's Take 2 is the follow-up review for a written review on one of our sites. In the case of this video, the written review is not online yet, but it will be on www.SoundStageHiFi.com on March 1.

@@soundstagenetwork would you consider these a worthy upgrade from bw 606 not the s2 model?
@soundstagenetwork3 жыл бұрын
@@stevenoconnor5693 I think that most of our reviews who have experience with B&W speakers would think it is and upgrade. But with speakers, they vary as greatly as personal preferences do, so you'd really have to listen to them yourself to know for sure.

Looks like a microphone lying on top of a speaker.

It kind of does look like that. On the other hand, the "tweeter on top" has been a defining characteristic of Bowers & Wilkins for decades now.
