BOWFELL VIA CRINKLE CRAGS - THE LAKE DISTRICT - LANGDALE

Standing at 902 meters and located within the southern fells of the Lake District. This circular walk beginning at the famous Old Dungeon Ghyll hotel which you can use as a base for the area offers spectacular detailed views of the Langdale valley and across to the Scafell range.

Enjoyed this one buddy. Reference the geology, the landscape was formed 40-60 million years ago, then carved out during the last ice age. Reference people having that view in thousands of years time, AW summed it up perfectly when he said “The fleeting hour of life of those who love the hills is quickly spent, but the hills are eternal, always there will be the lonely ridge, the dancing beck……”

Thank you for the kind words once again.. I need to get back up crinkle crags.. I think I enjoyed that section more than bowfell itself and will likely use it as a first wild camp place when I get confident enough

@@daveostlemountainman yea Red tarn would be a great place to wild camp. I am doing a solo camp/hike of the Cumbria way soon. Probably over October half term if the weather is good.

Did this today, what I enjoyed about this track compared to many others in LD , the landscape would change dramatically every 30-20 min

yea, through forest, open grassland and a bit of rock too.. great walk for all abilities and to get people into walking the fells. cheers for watching :)
