Bowflex Max Total Max Trainer/Is it worth it/Review/2020/2021

Just thought I would upload a video on my recent purchase of the Bowflex Max Total. Like many of you I've been struggling to get to the gym with Covid and having 2 babies so I decided to get myself a cardio machine! I’ve had mine for 4 years. Not a single issue. It can be a little loud, but I live alone so…. No issue. I maintain it as much as possible… it has moving parts and as anyone knows … they don’t last forever. Customer service has been excellent! I highly recommend this elliptical! Also. I don’t use any Bluetooth features. I just listen to audiobooks on my phone.

THEY DEFINITELY SHOULD BE MAKING IT RIGHT… I’m sorry that happened to you… I’m good !! Oh and just so u know whatever CC u used to buy it, almost always have purchase protections and/or warranty protections bc the equipment is essentially broken and/or defective. Recently got the Bowflex Total M16. My first workout on it was on April 30. I'm basically very impressed with it, and use it about 3-4 times a week. But, it has "developed" a fairly loud scraping type noise coming from the right side wheel. I'm not sure if that noise was present from the get go and I just didn't notice it in my excitement, or whether it developed after a few uses. So I'm a bit disappointed about that, considering it's still basically brand new out of the box. I saw a video on KZbin showing how to tighten a nut using s socket wrench, but now I can't find my socket wrench set and ordered a new one, which will arrive tomorrow. Fingers crossed. Going by the amount of videos on KZbin, showing how to fix scraping, squeaking, clunking, etc, problems, I'm surprised Bowflex hasn't find a way to avoid these issues. These machines are not super expensive, but they're not cheap either. They should be problem free for, at least, the first 5-10 years.

I just got the M9. I got it pretty fast and today was first work out. It’s hard! I’m a fit dude and was not expecting this to be as intense, but now I’m intrigued. Was it hard for any of you at the start?

How was your overall workout experience. I just purchased an M6 primarily because I did not want to be overly reliant on the video services. I liked the sturdiness and range of motion of it but deviated from the M7 or M8 over concerns over reliance on their videos solely. I get mine next week delivered. Ill keep you updated.

@@brittysplaylist475 I love it. It is very stable (I’m 280 lbs) which was my biggest concern. It is a very effective workout. I was surprised as how much of a calve workout it was. It is an effective machine. It is durable and space efficient as well. Kinda reminds me of an assault bike with better controls and smoother movements.

Hey, thanks for this video. Fellow Albertan, wavering between the M6 and the M9, or used. You have me leaning toward bare-bones M6 or used because of the glitchy technology and the frustrating corporate experience. Your information is exactly what I needed, and I totally think Bowflex should send you a new M9 for all the frustration they caused you.

Hey! So I’d say it’s definitely a sturdier machine than the other models. I don’t use the app functions so that’s pretty much useless to me. I use it everyday so it’s nice having a studied machine but I would def read buying used over new!

Trust me. You don't want a Peloton. I got my Peloton when you got the bowflex and i am experiencing much the same. Unlike Bowflex, however, Peloton has the worse customer service. Their marketing would have you believe you are buying a premium brand but really it's Walmart quality and Kmart service. I am considering replacing with this machine but your video is definitely giving me reason to pause.

Thanks for the review! Did you ever get the parts? And can you still use the machine to workout without the tablet or bluetooth working? Cause I dont think i care to use the tablet or the program subscription I was curious to know if you can still workout with the extra stuff.

Hello! Can you please tell me if it is possible to manually adjust training modes on it? for example: to do a 3 minute interval at an easy pace, and 20 seconds at a fast pace? in max3 it was possible, but in max total I can not figure it out.

Great review! It was super helpful! Thanks!! Yeah, I thought there would be more reviews too. I just picked this up used for $1700CAD and feel like for what I paid, it’s a great deal. I was surprised too that the Bluetooth features were so limited. Hopefully they can fix in an update. Like the app should definitely connect to the machine. Oh well, thanks again for the great review.

@@drtcurt Its a hugh investment....same in NJ my local gym got flooded with 2 feet of water so the commute to go to another gym is annoying but the only place to put this is the garage and its currently 4 degrees outside.....sooooooo its a dilemma

If you look closely, her machine is a dual-rail unit, so it's closer to the Max Total 16 which is not offered in Canada anymore but you can get it in the US. The screen however is an M9 screen. Probably was a limited offering. M9 has the same screen but a lighter single rail. I think she is not lying about the price.

Yes from what I read is a manual mode. You do have to have an active WIFI connection or it wont run at all.

Thank you for the video . We are thinking of getting this ourselves . Looks like the Max total is out of stock now . Maybe it’s ending soon . We are considering the M9 or M6 . Not sure . I don’t want to pay a journeyman app $20 subscription and I don’t need the Netflix because I’m watching on my tv anyway . 🤔

I have had the TOTAL MAX since April 2020. It was a life saver during the worst of pandemic! I find, however, that you get very little out of the $20 subscription. They don't update it with new classes often at all, so you're basically stuck with the same classes month in month out. It gets repetitive quickly if you work out everyday like me. BUT a great way to use your Bowflex TOTAL is along with the Apple Fitness app instead. I choose a THREADMILL workout (on my iPhone) and just follow the instructions - it works really well.
