I'd give a limb to have seen this live. An all-time great Bowie song and performed with such amazing heart - and excellent guitar work - here. Thank you MT-TVC15 for uploading!

It's unbelievable...every time I look at him, at this unforgettable artist, this rock genius, every time, I think about how he was perfect in his role. About how the role of the performer suited him perfectly...he was hypnotic on stage: you couldn't do anything else but stare at him with your mouth open and listen to his very personal and immortal music 😢. I miss a lot dear Thin White Duke❤

The lyric is a conversation between Adult David and Teenage David. It references David's previous characters from the past decade. "Different Drag" references The Grand Dame, Bowie's first great character, before Ziggy. The Dame did "Man who sold the world" and "Hunky Dory". The Million dollar weapon was Ziggy. The broken nosed mogul is on the cover of "Lodger". Look for yourself. The thin white duke is dead, and Bowie has returned as the sad mime, who performs maskless. And then the poster tells us this is about G. Numan? Seriously. This is why Bowie "Hated" Numan. Can you imagine writing this brilliant and brave song about you self, and some no nothing publicity seeking musician ass says the song is really about him. The poster DOES NOT understand this song at all. Not even close.

Wow. I have ALL of Bowie's official albums , Including Guest work ( Iggy, Lou , Placebo, etc) , and ALL of Gary Numan's . I love them both. Bowie spoke unfavorably about Numan when Gary broke on the scene , which upset Gary a great deal , as he made no secret of his love of all things Bowie. In later years Bowie spoke a 'little' nicer about Numan. The media stirred the shit in the beginning , who'd have thought eh ?. Anyway , Teenage Wildlife is my single favourite Bowie song ... But I never knew there was a Numan connection ... If indeed there is ?. Hmmmmm. If David truly mentioned the 'Whizz-kid world' in relation to Gary , ??? , I guess that kinda wraps it up. One learns something new everyday. David Bowie , Gary Numan, both 'Heroes' of mine, I've read the biographies, I bought 'Are Friend's Electric' & 'Ashes To Ashes' , ( during my Teenage Wildlife) ,and helped bring them both to No.1 ,back in the day. Those truly were the good old days as regards creativity in modern music. I see no reason to dislike or demean either Bowie or Numan. I love them Both.

It's like your in my head lol. I totally agree with every word you wrote. I have Everything both David and Gary ever released. My two favourite artists ever. And Teenage is my favourite Bowie song . What a bloody fantastic version this is. Wonderful. And like you said , nobody makes music like this anymore. Including Gary , I like his recent stuff , a lot... But Replicas and Scary Monsters are two of the best albums ever released. By Anybody. Ever !!!!. Thanks for posting. P.S.- I admit I also adore YES , ( not the recent albums, atrocities all)... Anyhoo, did you know that "Man In A White Car" , was apparently also written about Gary. I remember buying the NME , with Gary on the cover sitting proudly, and nervously , In his brand new white sports car. Oh, mate , those were great days....
