This is probably the most Bowie has ever looked like Tilda Swinton.

I used to absolutely love The Rag Trade. My Dad had a dressing gown factory in the east end and the similarly to some of the girls made me laugh though there were palpable differences, Dad’s crew worked very hard with fierce loyalty to ‘Mr Kenneth’ We still have Sheila Hancock, lovely lady. Such genius comedy. Whoever could forget Miriam’s Everybody Out and little Esme Cannon and the lovely Diane Langton. Great memories

Harty seems to be an idiot. And the worst kind: An idiot with some kind of ill-informed agenda and a cruel streak. Maybe he should run for president.

Harty was never a great interviewer. Reads from a teleprompter at the start then switches to reading questions from a script board. Wow! The talent. Bowie noticed it and treated him with the contempt he deserved. Even read from a board, Hartys questions are silly and shallow. What colour is your hair, what suit will you wear. Hardly the type of deep exploring questions that we would all want to hear. Shocked and intimidated by Bowies deserving contempt for his lack of talent and professionalism, Harty starts stuttering. Harty should never have been given that job, he should have stayed a bland school headmaster or whatever he did beforehand. He doesn't even link Bowies questions, just separate questions read from a board.

David was so patient and polite with Harty and his foolish insulting questions. I’m amazed Bowie cut the fool so much slack, by making many intelligent corrections with grace, humility and even admitted to being a fan of Harty. The genius basically guided Harty and engineered the interview out of farce and into safe and very interesting territory. What a guy Bowie was, soundtrack to my childhood, and one of our greatest ever stars. RIP

Its instrumentals and early vocals sound like 1977's "Heroes." Not only musically but lyrically, "Play It Safe" may be interpreted as a narrative follow-up to Bowie's improvised song. What I don't know is what if any improvisation occurred in Iggy's song. Iggy's performances were "Dionysian," per a recorded interview; I haven't researched this work to know the extent to which its lyrics are also.
