We visit a small town that named after someone who was never there. We also discovered one of the Guinness World Records, and visit the grave of a sailor that was just recently identified.

I grew up there and still love that little town. Left in 1971 to go to the Navy. My wife, Kim Brumfield Stevens, is buried in that cemetery.

This was cool to watch, I moved to Bowie, TX two years ago last month. Surprisingly enough, I had not heard that a tornado had hit the town prior to moving here. Was wondering what damaged those old buildings in town. That building that's empty by H&R Block is now a smoke shop. Some of the damaged buildings in town are being refurbished and have some businesses in them. I really enjoy the small town and the people here are really friendly. I grew up in the city life and decided to move to a small town to get away from the congested city life.

No, these towns and the small businesses that support the town, are struggling. Because they don't get the government bailouts the big cities and corporations do.

There was a tornado a while ago

I remembered when that happened. It was all over the news here. We learned on the day we filmed this video that the outdoor sirens were installed not too long before the tornado hit.

Dude, you could at least learn how to pronounce the town's name correctly, Bowie, Boo-ee, its really not that hard.
