This song is so important, especially by a Christian band since it's easy for Christians to misinterpret "turn the other cheek" when a relationship is straight up unhealthy. One of my friends was murdered by her boyfriend, I have other friends who've been in abusive relationship and I'm in an emotionally abusive friendship(yes, that exists...she is codependent on me and demanded to speak to me when I needed to rest in the hospital...that's just one example of what she did.) I can relate to the words of the song for myself as well as the more romantic situations my friends were in.

Well there "was" this guy in my life he is my best guy friend in the whole WORLD! I started liking him cause he was the only guy that would really care about me and he would hurt anybody that hurt me I would pay all the money in the world to see him beat up himself. He keeps going back to his ex-ex-ex girlfriend and she cheated on him how many times i lost count. She asked him out again and I said he is a freakin idiot if he says yes he tells me Well I guess I'm a freaking idiot.
