that's why if guys are intelligent enough that wanted to make it in pop rock, then study everything you can; mainly jazz, which got more important than ever in the 80s to have something else to fall back on. one girl i was involved with briefly in the 90s, didn't like his playing, and i knew right off the bat it was because she didn't understand what he was doing at all. so, you can have the brains and talent, but you still need to understand how to make something like Stuy's drumming work.

@@samcavemanlosco6417 Sam if you're keen to know more - hunt around youtube for interviews. Sting and Steward Copeland talk about some of the tricks they did when they wrote and played their songs. Rick Beato asks Sting about this in one of his interviews.
@samcavemanlosco6417 Жыл бұрын
@@fordshaw5833 yes I watched sting live version of it and he seemed to have put a really good ampunt of work into it. Of course it’s sting you lose the goofiness of the police but him singing that song alone on scene with a tone as deep as his it makes you focus on the lyrics more because of it and result is way sadder and melancholic. I will look out for these interviews, never knew someone would reply a 1 year old comment but thanks a lot 😂
