Those are actually Brunswick Jetback Pinsetters according to the deck shield Jetbacks are basically upgraded Model A’s that run like A2s

It's a bit less known, but there are actually two major versions of the Jetback conversion package. Originally the conversion was designed to slow down the A-2's, with things like a smaller drive pulley and changing the ball accelerator out for the slower ball booster. The later versions of the Jetback package were designed for the A's, to speed them up to allow bowlers to bowl more frames in the same time period, increasing revenue for the center. So when you see a "Jetback" pinsetter, it's possible it is either a converted A or A-2. In the case of our center, these are original A-2's equipped with the Jetback conversion. I'll add Jetback to the title, though, to avoid any confusion since they are Jetback converted A-2s. 👍

@@KBowlin alright I have never seen A2s with the Jetback conversion I was told that they were mainly for Model A’s I do have a center that has converted A2 with the Otis made mechanism. originally they were model A’s from the start until the conversion kits came out and they were converted to A2. Until I found out about Wellington retro bowl owned by garage bowling alley I got to bowl on their Model A’s for the first time and then, when I went in the back, I now found out the differences between the A and the A2 Wellington retro bowl has 10 lanes Lanes 1-8 are Drop Link A2 and Lanes 9 & 10 are Model A’s with a cable Shotgun mechanism and they have starshields as the masking units I say you should go check out videos by them if you have or not

@@MaddoxsLaundromatAdventures Yeah I believe most of the kits sold ended up being for the A's, so there are less A2 Jetback conversions in the wild. The starshield masking units look great, I wish we had those at our center haha. I'll definitely check them out, thanks!

They are all basically same machine… jet back speed is in between A and A2. … A2 is fastest which imho is to fast. All are great machines and will run forever with maintenance.

@@MrAllmaniac Yeah, they are essentially the same. I don't refer to any as Jetbacks simply because I don't really feel like the name fits very well. The name sort of implies it's a completely different model pinsetter, when it's actually still the original A platform with only a few minor differences. I agree I think the A2 speed is a bit too fast and leads to unnecessary wear. In my experience most bowlers don't bowl as fast as the A2 speed would allow, anyway. I do like those faster ball accelerators, though! IMO the Y switch area on the A2's has the better design, the slower ball boosters on the A's/Jetbacks tend to get 6lb balls stuck in the Y switch because they don't have enough inertia to hop onto the rails at the start of the booster track.
