Both have a kid that they love so much Both are bad guys but can be good people Both get kicked in the butt an a sentient animal They have teamed up with their arch nemesis to fight a bigger threat. And that’s about it now for the differences Doof makes robots while bowser has a entire army of sentient turtles Doof has one kid who doesn’t like his evil while bowser jr. likes being evil also bowser has 7 other children that are adopted. Bowser gets beaten by a plumber who sometimes transforms into other animals while doof gets beat up by a semi aquatic egg laying mammal of action One of the only good things doof does is try to be a good dad while bowser is a good dad cus he got bowser jr. in the divorce he had with his unknown wife(whoever that is.😅)

Bowser always seemed more Yakuza than Evil Overlord to me, but that maybe because of There Will Be Brawl. He genuinely has the respect of his subordinates, and is a good family man in his personal life. His villainous acts are a job to him.

I have a theory here: Bowser is the former King of the Mushroom Kingdom, transformed into a monster and brainwashed by Kamek. When he was human, he never approved of Mario's advances toward his daughter, and this carried over into when he became the Bowser we know. This is why he constantly "kidnaps" Peach- Because he's scared that Mario's an abusive jerk. He's seen first hand what the guy does to his enemies, and he'd be damned if he let that psycho put a finger on his daughter. Bowser Jr. was also transformed by Kamek, but still maintains the bond with his Dad. This theory makes a lot of sense if you look into it... PRINCESS Peach. KING Bowser. It fits perfectly...

Not to mention when he and Peach got married in _Super Paper Mario,_ he took their marriage very seriously the whole time. If Peach could only learn to let go of Mario, then the Mushroom and Koopa Kingdoms could be united under an absolute power couple and Kamek could have some help raising the kids while Bowser’s busy. You know Peach would spoil those Koopalings rotten with her baking skills and provide a gentle touch where Bowser has trouble with such things and Kamek is already perpetually tired from being Bowser’s surrogate dad. In my book, Bowser has 8 kids (1 biological and 7 adopted, but still 8 in total).
