The reason the Koopalings had different names in the cartoon is because Nintendo of America hadn't come up with names for them yet. They were unnamed in the Japanese version until Japan adopted their American names.

Actually agree here.. mostly. If the earliest Mario games " Bowser " were Bowsers brother. Remember the old art of the first Mario Bros game drawn by the creator himself? That Bowser like fella had red eyes, grey and black coloring. I think the culprits of Bowsers brother and/ or sister missing/ murder are yet to be found. But he takes it out on Mario, Luigi etc. I thought it might be Waluigi and Wario since they are villanious.. but Bowser would had several chances to have acted vengeance upon them. So the culprits are human Imo but they appear in the kibgdom even before Peach🤔

Easy head canon: Bowser’s Brother is often Dry Bowser when the original Bowser is busy (New Super Mario Bros 2, Island Tour, Paper Jam, etc.) and is the father of the koopalings which Bowser now takes care of. Bowser’s brother might even be named Morton, explaining Jr in Morton Koopa Jr. As to where the Bowser species kids (koopalings and Bowser jr) they might have just simply been made in a cauldron and were made with their DNA in the mix (think of how The PowerPuff Girls handled that with the titular characters and their rivals the RowdyRuff Boys). These could literally be the canon reasons for the Mario Movie universe in the sequel (a trilogy is confirmed by Bowser’s French voice actor).

5:07 Kosmic proved that the reason why there's a blue Bowser there isn't because it's a different Bowser. It's actually the same Bowser and the shell is just blue because of how coloring works in Castle levels in the NES Super Mario Bros 1 and 2. Kosmic proved exactly that by taking a regular koopa from the castle level to the bridge where Bowser would be green to see that the regular koopa who would have a bluish shell throughout the level would actually have a green shell at the bridge. He also proved it by standing in the area before the color change would load proving that you could see Bowser actually be blue until you get to the area where it loads what color he supposed to be as green when you get on the bridge. More proof is that in Super Mario All-Stars they didn't make Bowser shell blue in the lost levels at all.

Considering what loose lore we have in the Mario franchise, I'd say Bowser and his kids are a line of powerful dragons that can tap in easily to the magic of the world. Perhaps Bowser's parents passed when he was young, or like some cultures, the children are raised by an appointed guardian instead of the parents, though Junior is being raised by Bowser so likely the former. Perhaps it's common for adults to die and leave their children behind, or children are left behind by the parents after their born, hence why bowser has 7 adopted kids but Junior is held in high regard as his own blood. Their connection to magic also explains why Bowser is so powerful and can survive lava, and even when he kinds doesn't he can still be revived from those indestructible bones (as we've seen the dry bones enemies, perhaps they're minor dragons with the same durability and capability of long life and revival?) Mario might not have concrete lore but holy fuck the characters are powerful. Bowser's take over attempts look miniscule in comparison to the magic of Peach, Rosalina, Mario and the like, and perhaps is kinda less meaningful than what actual terrorism is for us humans, hence why he still gets invited to the party games 💀

Since the Koopalings aren't related to Bowser, what if the Koopalings are Bowser's step children? Bowser Jr is the son of the Koopaling's mother, and the son of a deadbeat. This would make Bowser Jr and the Koopalings half-siblings and makes Bowser Jr and Morton's relationship way better. When the Koopalings call Bowser dad, that's when they're off work. When the Koopa call Bowser Bowser, that's when they're on work. This makes Bowser an even better dad, since he stepped up to raise another woman's children.

Maybe the Koopaling’s are gonna be the new leaders of the Koopa Troop after Bowser passes away, and continue to teach Junior until he’s ready to be the new Bowser. I don’t believe Bowser has a brother, much like people say he doesn’t have a wife, if anything Bowser used both his DNA and Kamek’s magic to make a biological son, but I do agree with Dry Bowser being some sort of biological ancestor to the Koopa Troop. I feel like I heard someone say that Wart is actually Bowser’s brother, he was once a Koopa that later transformed into a frog and decided to take over the world with his own corrupt army of different minions.

I have this suggestion about his whole family and his kidnapping of princesses hobby:⚠️ Imo. Bowsers actual ca age girlfriend and relatives are missing/ killed. Peach is NOT a biological mother of any kiddo regarding the koopas or Bowsers species, (how would eh they " do " it? No thanks..). But step-in mother for Bowser jr. In every Mario game having Bowser jr involved in canonlore, shown or otherwise. Bowser keep on kidnapping Peach so little jr can have motherly role model even if its a different species. BEFORE Bowser junior got alot more stage time or even before concepted into canon-lore. I think Bowser just kidnapped Peach just to bully Mario but treated Peach well and kinda took the time to see how well Mario fared. OR. Bowser kidnaps Peach out of revenge and spite because Bowsers same species girlfriend and even sister, brother got killed off by different humans that came before Mario, Luigi etc first time appeared in the Mushroom Kingdom, on the planet. But Bowser cant find the actual killer or killers so he takes it out on Mario and Luigi🤔 First I thought maybe the culprits would be Waluigi and Wario. But they are more thiefs than murderers and Bowser havent gotten out of his way to act vengeance upon them. Also those two oddballs are afraid or not willing to dare upset Bowser.. well unless its competitional games😂 Kinda feel bad for Bowser though..
