@@LeviathanLP I study molecular biology in university, and at the time of me posting this comment originally I had recently listened to an entire lecture on the human microbiome. When it comes to unique species it comes to the question of taxonomical identification of bacteria which is incredibly fickle and case by case, f.ex. some scientists might claim that two individual bacteria with less than 97-98% similarity in ribosomal RNA are considered different species, but applying that model to large organisms would imply humans are the same species as Capuchin monkeys. So when saying that "a percentage of these are unique to you" is likely due to either, frequent mutation in preexisting bacteria sufficiently differentiate them as species (unlikely due to the lower frequency of rRNA mutation), or whichever scientific group made this observation are applying smaller scale observations in a larger scale (taking microbiome samples from an individual, screening it for known organisms and taking a percentage of that, then doing that across multiple test-subjects to ascertain some sort of average which is more or less applicable on a larger scale). This second example of course contains some margin of error but is still more likely since it is in-line with a lot of biological study (research in modern developmental biology, began in banana flies and was applied to essentially every vertebrate or invertebrate). Again I am recalling info from this lecture I had and I have googled no sources in writing this so take this with as many grains of salt as you see fit. Sorry for the wall of text

Maybe it's just because Xenoblade 1 is the first RPG I ever loved that made my opinion on the genre do a 180, but their talk about it infuriated me. Wouldn't even be so bad if not for the obvious cope "nobody outside Japan cares about or plays Xenoblade", like notice how they didn't say shit about DQ Hero despite that actually being true for Dragon Quest. It was pure salt, a character they liked didn't get in so they had to be asses to the series whose character DID get in and pretend no one likes it.

On the topic of smash characters, i don't really care personally but it's just such a widespread guessing game that I had a few different opinions on predictions. To me Crash bandicoot seemed like the one with the highest chance to get each 90's console's main mascot with Mario, Sonic and Crash in the same game for the potential of a ultimate main mascot brawl. Especially when you consider the most influenfial non-nintendo characters with a mentionable history or current presence on a Nintendo console as there's plenty of Crash bandicoot games on the Switch lately and frequently among the top ranked popular games where most other IP's on that list had a character in Smash. Sure that would make the lack of master chief more apparent as the main representative of Xbox but yeah I thought because they weren't in the market until later, never had a game on a Nintendo platform and since he's not a particularly defined character it was still possible that they would disregard Master Chief and end on Crash bandicoot as a way to "complete" the crossover. But yeah as we're past the last reveal it didn't happen even though it made alot of sense.
