1:23:10 hear me out guys. What if there was a boss fight in super mario where you're in a room with platforms on the far left and right and the boss is in the middle. The boss shoots stuff at you while you're trying to get to the upper platforms so you can use the eraser power up to jump down and erase the small crystal on its forehead. You will need to erase it about nine to eleven times until you beat the boss.

I suggested something conceptually similar to that to Miyamoto when I saw him at RTX in 2019. He looked kinda pissed off (I thought it might've been because his English wasn't very good and I was shouting) but I *later* heard on CNN that that night, in Japan, Miyamoto went into his wife's house and beat her until she was just one, big bruise. I don't think I had anything to do with that but I try not to bother celebs now, even at cons.

The Wii’s controller isn’t what made me hate the wii in 2007 or 2008. For me, it was having my entire friend group at school have Xbox 360’s and watching them effortlessly connect and talk to each other through xbl while I was in denial that the Wii wasn’t bad. Sitting at home typing in 16 fucking numbers to play Brawl with my only other friend that had a Wii to then just give up because the WiFi was so god awful and lagged out the ass that it was borderline unplayable at times. Looks like some things still have not changed with Nintendo lol

On the topic of boss battles in Mario, this is kind of a sly answer, but I think about Super Paper Mario having at least one great boss. Sometimes, you're not just facing off with an enemy to utilize the 2D to 3D feature, but your enemy is the warden of a jail (mansion) and you have the option of either buying yourself out of debt or eventually discovering a well-crafted puzzle that feels like cheating, but is the intended way to complete it. Mimi is one of the most memorable bosses to me because it's not a fight. Outside of that niche example, I think the best mario bosses tend to incorporate puzzles, speed, and platforming, in which Odyssey did in spades.
