SPOILERS IN MY COMMENT FOR GALAXY 1 AND BOWSER'S FURY! Not even close. Sat through the entire walkthrough and Galaxy 1 and 2 were way better than this. While I won't deny it's not a bad game, it just felt... empty... compared to Galaxy. I grew up playing these games (born in 2002, played basically every Wii Mario game). I'll give credit where credit's due, Bowser Jr was a fun idea, but even so, it cannot match up to the Lumas or Rosalina/Lubba (slight bias towards Galaxy 1 tho). The ending to Galaxy 1 genuinely had 7-year-old me in tears, whereas this one just has me questioning what even happened to Bowser, which is never explained outside of "He's angry". Overall I give this game a 6 or 7/10 if we're calling Galaxy 1 a 10/10. Just my opinion tho.

Did you know that after beating the game once (without 100 cat shines) the game randomly chooses between the orange/red and black/blue sky every time the bowser phase starts? It does this before you beat the game, too, as soon as Phase 2 starts (it does this even with Phase 3), but you have to end the game through the pause screen, or die and wait for another bowser phase in order to see the sky go to blue, because unlike after beating the game once, cat shines don't stop the rampage. After beating White Fury Bowser (100%), the sky is always blue! It's true! This is why the color of the sky changes from blue (1:57:57), to an orangey red! (2:19:34)

​@@Bewildering3630 No not just that, I mean the idea of having something like this in a Mario game just doesn't seem right to me. one moment it looks like a regular Mario game with bright colors, cheery music, and cute cat characters, and then out of nowhere you end up in a world that's raining, dark, rock music in the background, and situated by a giant Bowser with fiery red eyes, tar black skin and shell, and looks like a regular Godzilla. its kinda like the night cycle in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest, only instead of a text box appearing the whole game style changes. I feel like Nintendo didn't HAVE to do this, they were just being pressured to move on with the times. I know Nintendo gets a lot of flak for not doing this, but catering to the younger audience is just what works for them and its done so for more than 30 years. its a classic example of the phrase 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it' which is something that a lot of companies today don't follow. Now don't get me wrong this doesn't mean I hate the game just because its trying to be different, I just don't think Nintendo got the pieces of the puzzle fitting right.

​@@kichiroumitsurugi4363That is, unless you don't use the Ruins Giga Bell at all after unlocking that set of islands, which causes the game to sequence break and never initiate the events that signal that Bowser should not stop rampaging because of Cat Shines. This is because the game checks how many times you have used the Giga Bells in order to advance the story, which completely breaks that sequence if you ignore the Giga Bell entirely and just go for the Cat Shines. Funnily enough, there's enough of them to amass at most 48 of the 50 required, which breaks the sequence because it is meant to activate at exactly 47 Shines. This allows you to use a Giga Bell to access the Wasteland islands without having to deal with a constant Bowser fury blast. Another fun tidbit is that entering a warp section immediately stops Bowser's fury blast. I'm not sure if this is true for constant fury (I still have to test that), but the option is there. The most accessible one for me is the gold pipe at Pounce Bounce Isle.
