Bowser's Inside Story Boss 18 - Bowser vs Dark Fawful

Sorry for the long delay. A lot of stress(from both the video and work) caused it.
So here we are with the battle against Fawful(finally!) and his new powers. His helmet will pretty much prevent you from dealing any major damage to him, so just stick with punches and fire breath until it finally detaches from his head. Inhale it, and let the Bros deal with it. If you're fast and strong enough, you can kill the helmet before it leaves Bowser's body. More on that later. While dealing with Fawful, pay attention to his attacks, specifically the star beam and his portal/dark energy things. Watch the star you have to punch, and watch what portal links to the ones near Bowser.
As for the Helmet, it'll start off by sucking up one of your blocks, and then using one Bro as a weapon against the other. Jump on it to stop the attack, then hit it once again to get the block back. His other attack consists of shooting orbs at the Bros, but fortunately they're color coded so you can at least tell who it's aimed at. Once you're set, attack the helmet with your strongest attacks. If you're good, you can take this thing down before it leaves Bowser's body

I love how Fawful never lost his manner of speaking, even when he became the main villain. He managed to come across as threatening while also being hilarious. I guess having that cape really helped.

Fawful’s villainous outfit looks to be inspired by Cacklettas old coat. He doesn’t really start until finding a good sidekick too. I like to think this is his way of taking up the role of evil successor from his old master.

Fawful is a true Mario and Luigi antagonist. He was in all three games and latched onto out memories with his clever yet horrible English. He survived the defeat of Cackletta and layed low for the whole second game only to seek revenge in the third. He is truly a worthy adversary.

Honestly Fawful really was a great villain for these games, I know that's not an unpopular opinion but there's just a lot of meat to the deranged bean. The character arc of minion to master, his actual victory for most of the game, his funny way of speaking, his massive ego, the food/eating motif that underlies a lot of his personality and actions (to the point he's even got Bowser complimenting his cooking) and just a lot of smaller details like him being stressed out or him going more crazy over the games. Also his final form looks really cool and is easily the most creative one in the series.

I love "Destroy the Dark Power!" for Dark Star in the remake and, despite "A Fateful Clash!" being a good theme and I like Dark Fawful got his unique theme as well, I think it's not as fitting for a battle as "Tough Guy Alert!".

I learned that you have to destroy fawful's headgear first that way his headgear won't continue to heal his HP then you have to use Bowser's vacuum block ability to have his head gear go into Bowser's body then I recommend using Mario and Luigi first once the headgear is gone then Bowser can start taking down fawful

I’d say that most of the fights in the game are pretty easy and can be beaten on your first try I even beat the first dark star fight on my first try even though it took me like twenty minutes

It probably would have been anticlimactic, but would anyone else have preferred Fawful absorbing the entire Dark Star? It could've been Bowser vs. an incomplete Dark Bowser that gets absorbed after losing. Then you take down a fully powered Dark Fawful. After all, he was the antagonist for the whole game.

For future reference, you can attack the vacuum helmet with one of Bowser's special attacks, even if it's on Fawful's head. I saw a guy do Shy Guy Squad on it successfully.

When Bowser takes too much damage, he takes on the "Fury" status. Where he turns orange and starts smoking with rage. In this form, his attack power is increased, but his defense is decreased. That never happened to you in this game?

If you get the red key from the Fawfulcopter in Peach's Castle, you find the Magikoopas locked in a cage. Broggy Bonker is obtained when you find all 15 blitties that are hidden inside enemies and deliver them to Broque Monseur. The blitties are obtained by inhaling them. Check the Super Mario Wiki to find a list of where the Blitties are

I was kinda disappointed to see that the helmet only gave 220 EXP. For the kind of work you have to put in to kill it, 1500 would have been more reasonable.

@thebuse23 When he heals, I take off that much to whatever I've done. It still adds up, and it doesn't go over his HP. So if I do 100 damage and he heals for 300, it doesn't give him 200 extra hp, it only maxes out his hp.

@deadlykidCs It's possible to make the helmet detach in one turn by hitting it with a really strong special move, such as Broggy Bonker. In addition, it's less work for the bros. You just have to move the cursor over to the helmet rather than Fawful himself.

@wizzcunha It's 2 games after Superstar Saga. The reason Fawful didn't die is because Luigi hammered him and sent him flying. Cackletta had her body AND soul destroyed by the Mario Bros, hence why Fawful is still alive here.

There's a block with 7 Attack Pieces at Peach's Castle. Once you hit it, the three blue Paratroopas will appear and you give them 300 coins in exchange for the locations of the other three pieces, but there's a catch: they're invisible.

My strategy for this guy is just to Broggy Bonker the living crap out of him, then when the helmet comes off, suck it in and let loose the fury of the gods. It helps that I use SP saving equipment a lot.
