Bowser's Inside Story - Final Boss - Bowser vs Dark Bowser - Mario & Luigi vs Dark Star Core

Final battle! The reason I took so long to upload this is because after beating Dark Fawful, I spent some time level grinding to reach 40 for all 3 characters. I did this simply for the Ranking and the ending message. I honestly didn't expect the fight to be like this. This battle is broken into 2 parts. On the outside, you use Bowser to fight Dark Bowser. On the inside, you use the Bros to fight the Dark Star Core.
Dark Bowser: Start this one off by hitting Dark Bowser with your best attacks. When he attacks with a boulder, watch the middle and right rows. Use your shell to block any rock in the middle, and time your punch to hit one of the Right rocks into Dark Bowser's mouth. That flame hurts, so you'd be wise to stop it. His next attack is punching you. He will punch similar to how Midbus does, only he doesn't stop until you're either dead or you block it. If you block his punch with one of your own, he'll jump up and try to slam down on you. Use the shell to block that. His 3rd attack is that he summons a dark cage around you. There's 2 ways out of this, one easy, one hard. The easy way is to repeatedly punch the Star Lock until it breaks. The hard way will cause some damage to Dark Bowser, but you need to use your shell to make the cage swing back and forth, and with the proper timing you can break the cage and land on Dark Bowser, dealing some damage.
Finally, when you deplete his 1000 hp, the Dark Star Core will revive him and make him a giant. In this state, he only has one attack, and that's to summon a bunch of his minions at once. As Bowser walks back to Dark Bowser, punch Goombas, Bob-ombs, and Koopa shells, duck under Thwomps, Bullet Bills, and eventually Dark Bowser himself. Punch his stomach to make him spit out the Dark Star Core and return him to his normal size. Inhale the Core to take this battle to its second phase.
Dark Star Core: This is the real battle now. Fawful has fused with the Dark Star to become the Dark Star Core, and has 6 parts to defeat: 2 eyes, 3 legs, and the core itself. You need to dispose of the eyes and legs first in order to hit the core. Take down the eyes first so he doesn't hide his legs when you try to attack them. Then get rid of the legs. His attacks depending on whether or not the legs are still intact. If they are, he has 3 attacks. One attack is Fawful slamming his arms into the ground in front of the bros, and sending energy orbs at them. Simply use the hammer to stop them. His next attack is picking up the bros in each hand, and firing a beam at them. He will raise and lower the bros to try and trick you, so only have the one he targets jump. Otherwise you may get some damage you didn't want. His 3rd attack is where the main body chases you, and the Core tries to slam into you. Pay close attention to the Core's color, as it tells which Bro it's going to fly into. Jump to avoid the core, and you won't be hurt by Fawful. With all 3 legs destroyed, the core itself now fights. It only has 2 attacks, both of which can be devastating. Its first attack is to produce a dark arrow/chain thing and swing it around. It will try to trick you(as you see it did to me) by dipping the arrow low, but not touching the ground. Eventually it will hit the ground, and by this point you need both bros jumping to avoid it. After a few rotations, it will fire the arrow at one of the bros. It will angle the arrow just a second before firing, to tell which bro it will shoot at. Use the hammer to send it right back at him. If it hits, there's a chance your Bro will become confused. Its second attack is a massive beam that covers the entire screen. Grab onto Starlow and she will take you to the top screen to avoid the beam.
Once the legs are destroyed, hit the core with your strongest attacks. You need to be quick, however, since the core will restore the body after 2 or 3 turns. If it does, it will fly out of Bowser's body, and back into Dark Bowser, and you'll need to repeat the entire process all over again.

And with the final boss beaten, you can enjoy the ending and credits.

The story isn't perfect. It's not explained how Fawful knows about the dark star. Or why Peach would know that it was Fawful's plan. And that it was kinda unnesassary to have Bowser inhale Peach if he was just gonna take her anyway. And that there are times that Fawful is standing RIGHT THERE in front of Bowser but Bowser doesn't kill him. And that Fawful puts Bowser on a treadmill machine when he was fat. That could potentially lead to Bowser stopping him yet he gets mad when Bowser keeps coming back. The story isn't perfect but not horrible. But still a great game none the less. Because the story isn't the most important part of a game. It's all about the gameplay.👍

Bowser’s Inside Story and Partners In Time felt like the same parallel between Marvel and DC. The shroob story was really dark even for a mario game. Absolutely amazing of course. This one was more lighthearted and of course BOWSER BEING PLAYABLE! Nothing beats that.

this right here is one of the best games i have ever played, the story, the combat, its incredible, i remember as a kid being just glued to the boss fights, and when i finally got to play it, it was amaizing. Its always fun when you get to play as the "bad guy" in a viden game. More over, it made me feel like a kid again! But what i didn't see back then was the ending, and when i did finish the game... man... that ending brought me to actual tears, seeing bowser the "bad guy" finally get the thanks he deserves after saving the world was beautiful i love this game i'm sad we'll probably never see another game like this, but i'm happy we do have this one

Yes, because as long as the core is alive, it will continue to revive Dark Bowser every time you kill him. Dark Bowser only has 1000 hp, which is EASILY depleted. But so long as the core is alive, he'll keep getting revived. So defeating the core is necessary to defeat Dark Bowser permanently

It was 5th grade, and I had a Nintendo DS, I remember watching mario games on KZbin like nothing. And then saw this video and watched this whole video not knowing what the story was. It caught my eyes and I then remember something I seen something like this on TV during commercials, a couple of years back before watching this video. I knew that when it was close to December, this is the game I wanted. I told my parents and they bought it for me. Literally the day after our Christmas school day, the day before our Christmas break, I played this game non-stop. I couldn’t stop playing. I was obsessed with the whole gameplay. Fighting enemies, discovering new moves. Exploring the environment, and everything within this game. I didn’t play the 3DS version. Though I wish kept this game for the DS, mostly my best treasures.

I'm repeating myself, but I will never forget this game. This one in particular gives me so much remembers... You see, this was my first Mario&Luigi game. I was young (like 6 or 7) and was sick, and I asked my parents for this game. But it was the month's end and we were broke at the moment, so bye bye. But my grandma bought it for me, and I played it, loving every single bit of the story. I was raging sometimes too, like my R button wasn't working so I literally smashed it for 15 minutes only to get pas hitting Bowser's nerve at the very beginning (I used my little brother's red DSi at the end), or with that stupidly hard carrot minigame. My dad did it for me. And then, as I played and busted the hell out of my mic on Fawful's train, I got to Dark Bowser. But I couldn't spam the inhale button as fast as it had to be. I was too young. So my grandma did it for me, it was the first time she helped me in a video game. Then I played Partner's in Time, and never won because of Elder Princess Shroob. Years passed, and I bought (Myself this time lol) Superstar Saga for 3DS. I loved it. And I understood who Fawful was. And then Bowser's inside story for 3DS came out, and I bought it day one. Of course, with almost 10 more years of gaming experience (and life experience in fact) I destroyed every single boss. Even that damn carrot. And I got to Dark Bowser. In the Finale. But I don't know why, I had a tendonitis (Maybe because I keep destroying my health on video games who knows) and my hand was hurting. So my grandma helped me beat Dark Bowser. It was the last time she helped me in a video game. I missed her really bad and still miss her. Now I'm 20 and she helped me for the last time 6 years ago, and left us 5 years ago. I managed to beat Dark Bowser by myself shortly after, and this endgame music and cake always makes me smile (with a little tear). 3 days ago I choosed to face Partner's in time and I'm currently just before the last dungeon. Elder Princess Shroob will go down this time. In 5 years I went from a midli good student to a lawschool student on the path of becoming a lawyer. I hope my grandma is proud of me up there. The game that made me so memories that I will never forget was this one. Sure Undertale, Pokemon and Fortnite too, but this one is something else. Thanks you again and forever, Alphadream. You really made me dream and you're still doing it. Rest in Peace grandma, now's my turn to get over with life. Thanks y'all who read till here, hope I didn't waste that much of your time

Having watched the entire series of Boss Battle videos, I can say that not only do you certainly know your stuff here AND you're great at the Mario and Luigi series. In addition to that, the production of the videos was great. The DS isn't an easy system to emulate, nor is it easy to record, but you figured out a way that works perfectly with the game. Bravo, well done!

Truly the one of the best final boss themes of all time, and the normal boss theme is just as amazing. This is my favorite DS title of all time, but I was a bit disappointed that all you got was a secret message for reaching level 40.

Yes, if you had bothered to read the description, it says that I'm very much over leveled for this fight. I only did it for the Rainbow and Final Boss ranks.

@TheZero1312 Level 30 is fine for this fight, so 35 is more than enough. I recorded at level 40 simply to get that last message. As for equipment, I can't say what's good and what's bad. Check it and decide what you think would be best.

If you bothered reading the description, it says that I'm extremely over leveled for this fight. The average level for fighting this boss is somewhere around 25-30. I'm level 40 here.
