Box blade on a UTV: does it work?

We originally bought this box blade and 1-point lift system back in January of 2022 (with the intention of using it then!), and just recently got a chance to test it out. Spoiler! While I can see us using it in a variety of applications in the future the results were varied, and it does have its pitfalls and limitations. Let me know what you think in the comments!

Those jam nuts are supposed to be jammed together with a 1/32 gap between the bottom nut and the tube below it. This lets you give the blade down pressure. Use spray silicone on the adjuster threads to make adjustment easier. I bought this identical set up. The gap is hard to see in the instructions if you’re in a hurry putting it together. Wish I would have bought the hydraulic version.

For anyone searching to find if you can use a real-life - sized box blade/ gannon with a SXS well, I configured a tractor-sized 700lb gannon to a winch/receiver hitch - works with a truck = awesome. However, on a SXS ? it's just too much weight

Are you planning to try a low maintenance garden of some kind?

We are planning on planting up here, but we are thinking more of a small orchard. Maybe avocados or apples. We are still in the research phase. I’d love to have a garden here, but until we have a green house the deer and rabbits would pose a major problem.

That's a scrape blade, not a box blade. But clearly it is no good on a utv.
