Looks like you can make that box scraper last forever, with the skills and tools available. Nice job.

before scarifers get worn too much use hard surface rod to lay a couple of passes where the scarifier cuts will save a lot of money i have been resurfacing scarifers for 20 years for this Texas limestone good video thanx

hi Bowl, Do you have a picture or video showing details how you do that? Thanks in advance!

I know time is money but sometimes rushing can be fatally expensive. A big tractor on weaker implements means you have be twice as careful

It's been 4yrs..what does this box blade look like? To be fair I have never bought a TSC implement that didnt need to be repaired prety quickly. Even my landscape rake needed work.

I have a Land Pride box blade a tooth broke off the the on the very first use with a little 24 hp tractor. These shanks are a pain to replace as manufactures do not make replacements readily available and they come in odd sizes. The teeth are not easily replaced at home and often just better to buy a whole new set.

A trick that I use, use only 2 points in the middle of box blade, works great for renewing the middle of the driveway, remove the points, grade the whole driveway, looks great makes quick work of maintenance on driveway....FYI helps smaller tractor do more

Every once in a while I will use only two rippers, in fact the second and forth ripper are longer just for that reason.
@trailermonkey86873 жыл бұрын
I love that stop action "unboxing and marching of the new teeth". That was nice work. Do you know why the lower cost implements have bolt on attachment points? So they can ship more units on a flat bed trailer. The better equipment is typically fully welded up.
@DanielWoodell3 жыл бұрын
I have not notice the difference in bolt on VS weld. I would say that with a little time with any implement a a some time with KZbin and a inexpensive welder you would be able to make an implement work for you.

I have A B3200 but have lots of stone and shale here in NY , More stone then dirt LOL , But works well.

I have used my box blade in areas with mostly hard pan. I ended up adding a log for more waight. but it did the job.
@damham56895 жыл бұрын
For bolts that keep coming lose, what about loctite? If you really want them to never come lose use the green loctite. But blue or red works well for bolts you may want to remove later

Im building my box blade tomorrow. It going to be like yours. TSC made me a rain check, the blade went up in price twice in the time I was waiting.

I probably would have dimpled them then welded the dimples and all the way around them.

How in the world did you wear the tines out in 3 years? Your dirt is soft. I've got the same one and have put it through rocks for 8 years and I don't have near the same damage. That's crazy
@DanielWoodell5 жыл бұрын
YesDeere13 my brother used it to build his house for 10 months he has almost nothing but hard pan, and he also put a log on it to wait it down to break hard pan.

How heavy is that thing, you flipped it over like it was 20 lbs?
@claretespana91614 жыл бұрын
That particular brand” C L “ box scrapers are not heavy , could be for less H.P. Tractor, steal gage is light duty ,I’m just guessing.

Are you saying "structual" instead of structural?
@tigg5676 жыл бұрын
Look at 1:34,2:29 at 1:29 it shows you cranking down on top link bolt cause it’s a lot of gap.at 2:29 you show the black pieces in the way .if you look at the back of the box you see the yellow painted steel of the box on the outside and black on inside .i bet if you would set up the front the same way you would fix both problems.the one with the spacing and the one up top where bolt is a mile long
@micahl985 жыл бұрын
This was well done, and I enjoyed the video... I do have to ask, again not to criticize, but for my own general curiosity... considering how much dirt you do eventually move from that area with the box blade, why not rent a larger machine for a weekend? wouldn't that have saved a lot of time?
@DanielWoodell5 жыл бұрын
Yes it would have taken only a few days with a dozer. how ever i like to drive my tractor, and it give me something that i like to do instead of working on my hunny do list.
@roflstomps3245 жыл бұрын
@@DanielWoodell Me too. I get the same question. Wouldn't it have been easier to rent a back hoe to make a ditch instead of using your box at an angle and the loader? Well, yeah. But then I wouldn't be on my tractor... so.... I literally bought a huge piece of land so I would need a tractor. Why? Cause tractor.
@panchohughes6 жыл бұрын
Why not just tack weld the tips on? I would be afraid that with the dimple method one might work itself loose.
@DanielWoodell6 жыл бұрын
panchohughes well the dimple method is how they are installed from the factory. And for the most part you should be using a box blade to drag dirt which would only push the Teeth on to the river tines, I have put a huge amount of hours on my box blade and I haven’t had a problem with it yet
@panchohughes6 жыл бұрын
Thanks.

So you bought a quality tractor and quick hitch, then you put cheaply made box blade on it. I don't understand.
