Box Braids for Men / Boys | Beginner Friendly | Medium/Short Hair

Hey guys so in this video i'm braiding my 13 year old brothers hair. The braids are inspired by artists like travis scott, asap rocky, lil pump, and lil yachty. These braids are beginner friendly and perfect for men / boys in highschool. This style doesn't take very long and is an easy style. I hope you enjoy this tutorial on how to get box braids !

i have type 3a/3b hair and i want box braids but my fringe area is longer, thicker and heavier in weight than the sides and back. i want my box braids to be slightly longer on the back of my head as i see most box braids usually are shorter at the front than the back. should i get my fringe/front of my hair trimmed to be slightly shorter than the back and the same weight and thickness to get this style? any replies will be hugely appreciated

Is there a reason you are staggering the parts except the middle? I’m going to put box braids in my sons hair this weekend, so I’m researching the best method for me.

i stagger it so that the braids don't all fall on top of each other and leave large gaps on his head. the reason i don't stagger the middle is because he wears it in the middle parting on a daily basis and this prevents it from falling in front of his face when doing activities!

Wear a du-rag to sleep and make sure the braids are straight underneath them. When you wake up they'll be straight!

I would say it depends on the length of your hair, if its pretty long then your braids should cover the top portion of your taper fade and it will still look normal. If your hair isn't that long then your fade would have to be low for it to look okay! Hope this helps

minimum 6-7 depending on your hair growth but maybe 9 months - 1 year if your hair grows at a slower pace
