I still get a tiny bit nervous when i use shapers. I guess it keeps me from getting complacent though. 🤷♂️

I have the exact same thought. That’s a lot of energy in something moving really fast. If that energy were to transfer to the workpiece, there isn’t a whole lot that would stop it from ransacking the user.

I retired (and divorced heh) 3 yrs ago.. at 42.. I've always built things .. decks, coops, tables, a cabin.. but now I've really started getting a shop into order. Being a single dad of 4 boys.. it's stocked with mostly used gear.. somehow mostly older Craftsman Industrial series tools.. Router n table, 12.5 planer, miter, big ass radial arm saw.. They're heavy, stout, and since they're maintained properly.. work very well. Most my other 120v stuff is Makita. I have an 18' band saw mill, and 150 eastern KY acres.. so no shortage of lumber. Part of my hopes for a shop full of them sweet ass new gadgets... But another part loves the old heavy crazy loud tools. Like they have stories to tell.

Sounds like the good life. Is it all wooded? The best time to plant a tree was yesterday, the next best time is today. Sounds like you can plant some fruit, lumber and firewood treestands.
@TuckySlim2 ай бұрын
@@emeltea33 I've got about 1 acre of flat grass to mow down in front. That's were small cabin, barn, etc are.. and where we spend most our time. The rest is heavy old wood, sandstone cliffs n hollars, with a cpl dry sandstone caves up in the woods.
